- Lamborghini: The famed raging bull is owned by VW. The name Lamborghini sounds very German, does or doesn't it? Same with Bugatti.

I think that is enough examples already. Also, a lot of these cars are still being built in the country of its origin by the same people. Imagine that, Proton; owned by VW, built in Malaysia by Malaysians. Where is the shame in that? Imagine Protons as good as the Mk 5 Golf GTi. Is that a disgrace?

VW has done a brilliant job with Skoda (Czech) and Seat (Spanish). Both have improved by leaps and bounds, as a brand and in terms or the products offered. For Proton to axe the deal altogether = selfish, dumb and with hidden motives.

Well, if we want to criticise Proton, we must also be even-handed. Perodua has been churning out Kancils for ages also, albeit with several facelifts. They do have a new model to replace the Kancil coming up.

That said it still isn't as ridiculous as the "new" Saga, which is like a 70 year old grand ma getting plastic surgery to look younger. No matter what you do, she still looks old and knackered.

Furthermore, its not so much the lack of model updates but the goddamn build quality, which is crap. And the constant feeling of getting ripped off everytime you buy a Proton.

One thing thou.... the 2004 Saga .. degrades, compare that to the first batch of Iswara ... the 2004 ones were much inferior.

However... anyone here owns the new facelifted kancil? drives and rides ALOT better, even the sound deafening is done up quite good!

by the way, Lamborghini is bought by Audi i think, not VW. :)

Mitsubishi Motors Corp (MMC) was just sold off by their owner to a BANK. (Owner? Daimler Chrysler aka Mercedes Benz)

World's largest carmaker (GM) losses an average of $290 USD per car they sold. Toyota earns around $1400 USD per car they sold on average.

The old classic Mini, contributes alot to the bankcruptcy of BMC (British Motors Corp) because they were selling it way too cheap to fend off Ford.

haha shame to dr m.........once i heard from my customer........he deal with proton once.........he told me their com deal with air cond part.........he the 4th tier of supplier who install some part n send to the 3rd tier guy .........that y proton make a loss.........from my experience.........i own a proton 1.3 wira....aeroback.......a lot problem,still under warranty somemore......when i send to proton...svc.......bla this bla that.......bullshit....only........until send to my fren...mechanic......ask me to learn......how to fix my car.......i have been svcing my car for 4 n 1/2 year......on my own.........after that cannot tahan.........buy honda....no problem......like their service......good......n my bro own a satria......inside can put fish......in spare tyre compartment......every time rain....can put fish n swim.....

only thing to clear up...proton did not end talks with vw...vw was hijacked from proton while still in negotiations by auntie AP'S family with lots of AP's to bring them to malaysia...check paultan...ehehhehehehe...meanwhile underdeclaring taxes that could be used to subsidies our petrol...hey even proton pay taxes..example waja campro 14k of taxes for govt..can't say the same for imported cars...sure taxes high STATED...but hilang into building house with gold plated everything and helicopters for commuting to golf courses..hehehehhehe

Porsche isn't part of the group. They have a close working relationship with VAG though.

man i had the problem too wiff my wira SE from the 1st day i bought it i realize my left brake lamp n signal is not working n i check WTF the signal n brake bulb had been remove !..i think someone had stolen it when the time they took it from the port to the showroom...n the next day i went to the show room n ask for replacement n they said i need to wait coz they need to order n i say WDF man this car i boung new n it shud get all the things in there complete cuz i paid wiff fresh monay n u shud give me everything fresh...n hes was like mad n i say i DUN CARE u need to replace my signal n brake bulp now.....n he took it from one of the wira sedan in the showroom n replace it n thankgod its BOSCH..hehee...but the other was local made by proton....

n now i sense my aircond is smelly i dunno why i clean my car very well never ran through a flood..vacum EVERYDAY..but aircond stink like wet cloth that never being dried!>..b4......this problem continously 2 month.....i jz ignore it coz i know proton quality is L.......


i call for aircond service and ask my brother to send the car ...n they say the owner(ME) need to come over i was so fucking mad n i jz dun give a fuck no more.....man this is ....
