RON95 & RON97 Myths and Facts

I do actually feel there's just a slight power/torque improvement for my car where the A/T does not down shift as often/early BUT I don't think it's enough to justify the current price difference between 95 & 97. If maybe the difference is only like 10-15 cents then I may use 97, or when I want to play around a bit in Genting.

Depends on what car used. U may google and see. Lots of review and test between the debate on Ron97 & Ron95 myths and facts. If your car don't need RON97, ur car will not feel any difference even on mileage wise. Some, after using RON97, their mileage is worse than RON95.

But some cars benefit from RON97 after pumping. So depends on your car. But also your right foot la. If u keep pedal to metal, then forget about testing lol!
Agreed. I myself tested using ron 95 and ron 97.
conclusion from me on my zoom zoom. nothing difference. Just on highway drive give additional 100km for a full tank for ron 97. on Melaka roads (Traffic stops every 1km, ) no differences. Same mileage

Play around Genting has to be V Power Racing adi. Not Ron97 hahahaha!

Ya but with additives ma hahaha! So is addictive

Naah no need as it's still the same RON. Additives doesn't make a difference in power and short runs.
If it's 98 then I'll give it a shot (coz this car if in Japan usually consumes 98).

Drive to Singapore and fill up......:rofl:

bringing this topic up back since Petronas will be introducing Ron 97 4M petrol next mth. What will the benefit in terms of performance and engine wise?

As far as I know Euro 4 petrol is cleaner. Low sulphur ppm so is clean running, lower emission. Power wise I don't think any difference.

What if compare Petrol with 4M and Petrol with additive like Caltex Techron (With The 5 Benefits of Caltex with Techron® : Maximized Power, Better Fuel Economy, Smoother Drive, Lower Emissions, Reliable Performance)

RON95 vs RON97 on the same car...

Euro 4 should be lower emission, unless Caltex also bring in Euro 4 petrol.

Every petrol brand have their own marketing strategy......:driver:

better to environment...only...

iszo can answer? OnG experience....

Octane is the same, lower emissions and cleaner burn. That's all really. It's like VR2Turbo said.

The benefits of Euro4 is generally longer lasting engine parts and catcon. For Diesel it's actually critical because the way it burns is cleaner than our crappy older diesel so Diesel cars get better performance and last longer generally.

That is why BHP started selling Euro 4 diesel in JB a while back. Malaysian trucks delivering goods to SG have to have clean emission to enter SG....:driver:
