THis really made me mad although I can be considered a proton supporter..cos I own (and in deep love with it) a 16-year old proton (ex family car) which never break down once and this goon from the news seems want me to force me to part with it...

The proton issue is a reminiscent of the OPV project for royal malaysian navy..goverment privatised the project and let some company to build it. Promised to build somethng like 20 vessels for 10 years but till now they can hardly complete 1 vessel after 7 years. As a result millionsof RMsss taxpayer money wasted....could go into billions as now the cost of building 1 has skyrocketed pass RM 300 millions each basic no advancedweapon ..even more expensive than a new one of similar class vessel...imported with all fully equiped new weapon system!!!!

The problem is the parasites only middleman reaped the benefits...large part of money went into their pockets..

Just like in this case....vendors.. bloodsuckers@@!!

Government's purpose to let malaysians acquire new tech which IS good.. FAILED big tme becos of their goddamed corrupt practices.

I prefer Savvy than myvy but still got doubts about its quality and resale value thanks to inferior new cars being churned out by proton..

The Proton Vendors Association wants AP holders to be barred from importing cars that are in the segments of markets that Proton is in.

It’s president Dr Wan Mohamed Wan Embong outlines what they want to be implemented in the National Automotive Policy. They hope the government will consider it.

1. Vehicles with engine capacities less than 2 liters should be barred from being imported, regardless of whether it is new or used.
2. Approval letter should be seeked from Proton and Perodua before cars are allowed to be imported.
3. Cars more than 5 years old should not be allowed to be imported, regardless of engine capacity, other than those classified as vintage cars.
4. Declared price should be based on open market value decided by a council formed by the government.
5. Excise duty must be continued indefinitely.
6. Implement Vehicle End Of Life, where vehicles older than certain age should be declared not road-worthy, or have increased tax and other miscellaneous fees. This is to encourage new car sales.

well, as much is i realize that some of those stupid laws MAY get helped to be implemented (dirty slimeball undertable dealings of course), the post DID mention that it was a "SUGGESTION" for the gov to consider.
