no I didn't.. I thought it's just a photo only..

How much torque output at 10K?

Hope it's not curving down post 8.5K... :P

Zaki, not all B18C can reach 10K on stock internals.
One here already blew at 9K+ 2 years ago I think.. stock internals, no revcut.

Although that problem is localised to the valves not seated properly at than RPM, rather than the rotating assembly.

I wonder how much can the condition of the valve guides affect 10K rpm ability.

Sure fully stock internals ah? I don't think the R valvetrain supports anything above 9K.

that was a b16b with upgraded valvetrain. we don't want the valve to float. the torque figure is small ony. heheheh

Buddy Club Spec 3+ cams. Its a street spec cam which is very mild actually with nice stable idle. It lack top end peak power compared to Jun3 cams but it has awesome flat torque curve. Very good cam for street or mild setup.

You can see the specs in http://www.zerotohundred.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=116108

i'm still sourcing for cam, between Buddy Club spec 3 vs Omni stage 1 which one produce more power? idling almost like stock?

zaki,

If it is B16B ori, I think with the right valve train and cams to make power past 9k rpm then it seems ok, otherwise wasting time and increase wear to rev past 9k rpm.

If you see clearly, it seems that the tacho meter goes to about 9500rpm before the check light lighted up momentarily as a shift light (hmm... i see Hondata.. haha).. But from my experience, at very high rev, when the honda meter show 10000rpm the actual dyno rev is about 9600rpm.. If honda meter 9500rpm then dyno about 9100 to 9200rpm..

evox2,

The Buddy Club Spec 3+ should give better low to mid range power and torque compare to the Omni Stage 1 mainly due to the higher primary lobe. This will also make the Buddy Club a bit more lumpy idle but its very little.

Omni Stage 1 having more intake peak lift should give a little more peak power but less torque. Idle will be identical to CTR cams. Very good for street use.

thanks for the feedback chris. so buddyclub spec 3 more for low to mid power? Omni stage 1 will produce power until what rpm? if more than 8k rpm then need to consider again bcos stock ecu will have it cut off, need extra $ for the ecu then.

thats true... actual meter cluster reading is different.
that shift light maybe the engine got problem. but very hard to check the code since it only appear at 9.5k... :X-:

If I'm not mistaken, 126lb-ft equals to 17 kg/m rite? Phew, really strong torque man! Should be fun for SIC, heheh!

Hi guys,

Thought of just sharing a recent dyno of a B18C5 with minor bolt ons:-

B18C5 Block - Stock OEM internals, just lighten and balanced
PR3 Head - Mild ported with Omni Power Valve Springs, Omni Power Retainers, Buddy Club 3+ Street Cams
ITR intake with 4-1 exhaust + J's Racing straigth flow race exhaust
J's Racing N1 ECU for endurance race use, so a/f very rich at peak rev 11.8:1

Power 184whp @ 8200
Torque 126wftlb @ 6800

hai ya.. not really la.. When i race with the DC5 in MSS, no match to them in corner exit or straight line. Those DC5 i think about 160-170ftlb.

Now waiting and saving enough for a 200+whp and 150+wftlb setup to chase DC5 in MSS. hehe.. Any potential sponsors/partners reading this thread??

haha..

potential sponsor??? PENTAGON?

he he hehhh, btw chris wats the best cam for B18C R? from 3500 rpm to 9000rpm?

Seriously need more sponsors to do joint promotion with us as it is costing us too much for the love of motorsports and race organizers are NOT doing enough to help us.

The is no best cams to me. hehe.. It all depends what your usage (street or track or drag) and engine setup like compression, ported head???

So i will refer to STREET usage on a mild B18C-R engine. If you want almost stock idle, then it still has to be the traditional JUN stage 3, Omni Stage 2, Skunk2 stage 2. All this cams actually have very similar Vtec lobe and will deliver almost identical power curve and peak power at 8500 to 9000rpm depending what else you have on car. But due to the low primary lobe (non-vtec) their torque value is not high and the transition from non vtec to vtec is very sudden, but they do make good top end power and is easy to set and tune and idle.

Just my idea only, so i can be wrong.

If you want more flat torque then different story.

Can't you beat those DC5s with sheer power to weight? Not sure exacly how much lightening you've done on your DC2, but shouldn't it be quite light already?

Or is the DC2 chassis inherently heavier or same weight with a DC5?

Exactly how much power is your engine outputting anyway?

engine setup is remain stock standard for internal block B18CR + factory PnP for head job.

and the most important is the car is for street + street race use, i've read about spec 3 from buddy club and looks like very impressive response!!!

crower,

i'm just asking only laa...btw let crower convince BSN to sponsor u'r race team....
