Basic Performance upgrade

I know about this mod but my intercooler pipe is forcing the intake pipe to push downward forcing the pod filter to be slanted instead of straight. So to construct a nice airbox, unless I redo the intercooler pipe, else it will not look good.

no need to redo ur intercooler pipes. just make a intake pipe from SS material. cost only around 200 bucks..

Nope. Unless ur drop in is clogged badly.

haha yala... old filter very dirty already... or if KNN, never wash for a long time. Car will feel very heavy and reluctant.

Anyway to answer you, changing to open pod WILL NOT improve turbo response.

Some say will improve power. Ah Wah said no. Only smoother. I guess banana will not make a huge diff.

hmm.. well only dyno sheet's can show the diff.. but i think i may improve power even abit..

banana is prone to cracks unless ceramic coat it.really don't feel any improvements.

i used to work at a tuner shop 7 years ago and my job there is to fabricate parts like intake manifold, intercooler pipes, banana etc.. one thing for sure, if u wanna make ur banana not to crack is to weld one support from main flange to turbo flange.. so when receive hard vibration or impact it will absorb.

but nowdays, all banana has no such reinforcement bar.. even tonnka can crack..

Airtrek has scoop opening. It's worse when super hot got in touch with rain water.

yeah.. thats why alot of us convert to TD05 since the stock one cracked..

When you converted to TD05, it will crack too when it's hot + water. So make sure you use manifold cover.
