Hey toyota brothers, I was driving back from KLIA to PJ.. had to rush back coz had appointment so was driving 160km/h... the heat meter ( dunno what its called but its the meter that is connected to the radiator) was slowly climbing to red... so after that had to drive slow around 110km/h ... i was wondering if this is normal? or is there anything wrong with my cooling system ?

Hey toyota brothers, I was driving back from KLIA to PJ.. had to rush back coz had appointment so was driving 160km/h... the heat meter ( dunno what its called but its the meter that is connected to the radiator) was slowly climbing to red... so after that had to drive slow around 110km/h ... i was wondering if this is normal? or is there anything wrong with my cooling system ?

wat car u r driving?did u check the coolant level?

car service about 2 weeks ago lor... driving toyota seg ae101 year '94 wan... the needle climb til about 3/4 way up to the red line... and stay at that level... is it suppose to be like that? if not then seriously gotta go check liao >.<
oh my car is stock by the way...

got water/coolant in radiator or not ??? if got then totally not normal laaa ..
reasons ?? cannot be water pump kong la coz if water pump kong u wont be able to make it back to KL already .. or grill blocked by some paper or plastic so the wind cannot cool down your radiator .. or radiator blocked ... or most likely no water in radiator laa ..
driving in normal conditions no probs ah ??? not at high speed i mean ..

Radiator got water... normally when i drive i see paper on the road i will see my rearview mirror make sure it fly past wan wor.. but maybe i didnt see.. hmm ...
normal condition ok la needle stay halfway only... once shoot 160+ temp will rise

maybe sumthing wrong with your thermostat, the more speed
shud b more lower temp, below half... if water pump ok, radiator
got water, fan is ok... but your temp didnt rise till red n still can
drive back to kl... hmmm...

then do check these :

- check thermostat...
- change the water...
- check your radiator fan...maybe fan is not in very good condition...
chop shop fan is not more then RM50...

I have the same problem,last wednesday i'm traveling back from KLIA to SHAH ALAM try to run 150-180km/h suddenly after Dengkil R&R my tempreture rise more than half,after that i slow my car to 110km/h,the tempreture back to normal.after that i took my car to radiator shop at jln Kapar,the tauke suggest to me,change the radiator to the double core,it's mean u r radiator can keep more coolant inside,after change the radiator,now i didn't face the problem,more faster i run the tempreture meter will's go down!

check if radiator is blocked .. just service and clean the radiator .. maybe just this problem .. any mechanic can do this for u >>> take out the radiator and send it out for cleaning ..

check the radiator for any blockage.....its cheaper than get a new one....

heheee... try first lar...unless RM is no issue than change to double core ler....

New one not so expensive,arround RM500 only,and u 'll get cooper casing not like now u use fibre casing,if crack can't be welding back!

Thanx all for your concern and help! I brought to mech for check... he say my radiator was little bit block so he help me "wash" it or something... Next week when go klia i test again la hehe !
