hehe bro benjietan..im just telling the potential our 1.1L has..dont do it too often..but actually u dont have to rev ur engine as  as u thought  ..ax engine is a long stroke engine..it needs to reach cirtain rev to let get its full power..like the ax gti (1.4 multipoint engine)..the 100 hp is over 6k rev..anyway bro benjietan, ur thinking on getting a saxo vts engine into ur tiara?..its a nice engine, 1.6l twincam very powerful..but very hard to get one and the parts are even harder to get..better go for ax engines..quite easy to get nowdays..as for the parts, they share the same parts as tiara, zx parts..so much easier to take care off.. hei, nice seats bro..but i dont think they're from zx..zx seat are much bigger..i dont think they would fit into our tiara..anyway, keep me inform on any mods u made..engine convertion maybe  ..cheers

Ahh..Tiara.. I'm on my second Tiara now.. a 100k kms Tiara-plated Tiara. Preety much standard apart from lowering an the usual AX body panels - bonnet, grille, rear spoiler and tail lights. Btw, I have a spare AX tail lights should anyone want them. I'm not really selling them but if you really want them make me an offer.

The Tiara is more like a temporary runner while the Escorts are being restored and modded. However the Tiara is likely to stay when the Escorts are done. I would probably swapped the engine and box (together with the suspension system) for a 1.4 Multipoint injection with automatic gearbox & not forgetting power steering. On the other hand, I might go bonkers with it and turn it into a turbo-killer... you know.. it's quite easy to extract 180 N/A bhp from the VTS engine.. yummy! Or at least a 1.6GTi engine with fast road cam would do. From experience, a Tiara fitted with 'standard' 1.6 AX GTi engine (1.6 block + 1.4 GTi head & wiring) will comfortably beat Wiras fitted with 1.8 GSR Turbo engine, on both acceleration and top speed ;)

Mmm.. Won't it also kill you faster and easier in a Tiara with 1.6 gti engine, if there's a crash, compared to a Wira with 1.8 gsr turbo engine?

Of the reasons I bought a Tiara instead of Mitsu-Proton is its body strength. I've been to many insurance-claim workshops and seeing many crashed Protons. One Tiara in particular had a tree as big as a normal man's thigh where the engine mounting used to be (about 1 feet from the dashboard. Amazingly no broken windscreen, driver's door opens and shuts just as easily, pedal box intact in its place. Other Tiaras with hard frontal impact also do very well, given its size. I also saw Saga & Wira which had not as bad an impact but the pedal box is pushed up, pushing driver's legs against the steering.. ouch! Windscreen broke.. because the A-frame deformed.

Just because the Tiara is smaller doesn't mean it's weaker. I feel safer in a Tiara than in a Wira. From experience the Tiara is much more comfortable on long distance journeys too. No backache! It's just that the pedals are too close to each other making driving somewhat awkward when you are not used to it.

I do think Proton did learn chassis strength from Tiara and first implemented it on Waja. Waja's front end deformed just like Tiara's on frontal impact. The chassis deformed so that the passenger cabin remain intact.

Yo , thanks for the info man. Are you from KL? Where do you normally service your car?
