hey guys! i need a little help here. im about to modify a 4age ae86(rear wheel) engine. the problem is, can i use the 4age 20 valve(front wheel) head, its 4 throttle system and its ecu together with the old engine? have anyone done this? and did anyone know how to increases its power haa? how many hp in standard is this old levin engine? thanks guys!!!

wanna know why you want 20v head into the stock 4ag block? dun think the valve will clear, since the piston is different.

since the piston wont fit, you have to change the piston to 20v's piston, which have need the conrod's small end to be 20mm, but the one in the standard 4ag is only 18mm if not mistaken, then another no no.

so you change the conrod as well, i dunno what aftermarket you can get so i asume you get the 20v's conrod as well, which have the big end journal at 42mm, where the stock 4ag's crankshaft only have 40mm, and i don't think it will work..

so you have to change the crank as well, and i dunno if the big journal crank will fit in the standard block or not, because i have been asking this question as well..

so i would say.. just change the whole engine....

ooo...ya ka. its that hard ka??? lol... doesn't no that its too hard. i want to use 86 engine bcoz i want to put it into ke70. the engine mounting is the same rite? and i think that the ae101/111 engine mounting will definitely be different since it is a ff engine. correct me if im wrong

FYI, the engine mount for AE86 and KE70 is totally different. KE70 have the engine crossmember/mounting for K series engine, while AE86 has the one for A series engine. Unless you are driving an AE71, KE70 can't use 4AGE with stock engine crossmember.

but due to the fact that both are FR car, you can use the Engine crossmember from either AE86 or AE71. With that, the 4AGE will go in without much problem.

About ae101/111, yes they are FF car, BUT, the engine will go into the AE86 (or your KE70 if you have the A series engine crossmember.). The only problem you have to face is the distributor, which is located at the backside (flywheel side) of the engine, which is too long to fit into an FF car.

you have three option, 1, cut a hole in your firewall to let the distributor through, 2, convert to distributorless ignition system, 3, PM acoustic and ask how he did it with his distributor (look like fixed to the cam puley :lol: )
 
so rollakid, what you r going to say is i have to change my mounting point even if i use an ae86 engine in a ke70? waaa.... so hard aaa. but it seem harder if i use the ae101/111 engine rite. if i have to change the crossmember, so i think it is more worthy if i use 4agze. then if i have extra money, i can change it to turbo, is it that easy??? what is 4agze standard hp aaa???
 
if you use 4agze, you will need to get an AE92 halfcut or AE101halfcut that comes with 4agze. but if you lucky and can get engine kosong with ecu and all the wiring then good.

then, you still have to get AE86 engine crossmember so your KE70 can use the A class engine.

dun forget that FF engine's plumbing is different, so using 4agze or 20v you will have water pipe running all over the engine bay (okay.. maybe not that messy lar.. but need custom made piping). if you don't want to do alot of water piping you can use the standard AE86 4ag head, which you have to buy again.

let say you don't want use any AE86 4ag parts, and want everything from that 4agze, you will still have some trouble if you plan to use the supercharger first. thats because the supercharger intake is facing the wrong way if you put it in a RWD car. but good mechs can fix that...

okay, now you say you want to turbocharged it, you will find out that you need an intake manifold that fits. for low boost, AE86 intake manifold will do, and at high boost, you will find out that 4agze head does not flow that good cuz its using a small valve port, and the standard 4ag have big port and would flow nicer. can be improve with port and polish but i heard it will not be as good as big port head.

i'm not trying to give you any advice or something, since i have alot of blank space to fill in... if i were you , what i will do for NA is buy an AE86 halfcut, swap everything over.

for turbo, also same get AE86 halfcut, swap everything over, use until engine kong, then buy gze engine kosong with ECU, use the block and internal with 4ag big port head and gze ecu. for daily driving use the later version of gze, with 8.9:1 compresion ratio, would have better respond when turbo havent kick in, good for traffic jam.

later version of 4agze is 170hp and 21kg-m of torque, standard 4ag is 130hp and 14.2kg-m of torque.
