Just asking wat is the maximum exhaust temperature that an Evo3 engine can take? A mechanic told me its 10k celcius but another friend told me its 9k celcius. Im confused. Another thing, my exhaust temp increases quite high if i accelerate after driving at constant speed (e.g 180 kmh). One mech told me its fuelling problem. Ive installed fuel regulator but the problem still persists. Should i change/install:
1. Bigger fuel pumps/ fuel rail
2. SAFC to change the air/fuel mixture.

Or other parts that i dont know of. Thanks in advance

EGT depends on the engine tune... but most tuners will max out at 900c for turbos, anything beyond that is no-mans-land. It also depends on where you locate the probe? Before turbo is the most accurate and when people talk about EGT its always before turbo... if probe is after turbo the temps will be lower.

Installing a FPR will not help if you're maxing out your injectors duty cycle. Just courious, are you runnig high boost? As the stock engine runs quite rich actually. Have a look at your fuel pump too ... maybe its dying and cant supply enuf fuel at the top end. Get this fixed soon as constant high temp will fry your siput.

I'm assuming that your EGT meter runs ok! ;)

Thanks for the info AlucarD...my engine is running at standard boost (0.8 min. 1.2 max). FYI im using Defi Exhaust Temp and ill check my fuel pump.

With too much ignition retard, combustion happens way too late after TDC.

The heat is pulled all way down as the combustion stroke goes BDC.

With advance exhuast valve timing at hi revs, pushed out through the exhaust system aftre BDC

just asking.. dont shoot me.. :)

is it really important for NA cars?.. and where is the sensor that measure the tempreature.. at the extractor?
