I removed my thermostat in order to reduce engine temp. I find that it does benefit provided the engine is tuned to take advantage of it. Cause I find that I can run slightly leaner and advance ignition a bit. Engine also feels more lively.

Engine now runs around 70C instead of 85C.

Running without the unit is quite common practice in Malaysia -esp. taxi

What is supposed to be your optimum running temperature? Running too low will accelerate wear.
I did run without thermostat in my old car last time but on rainy days it kept at a low temperature the engine was sluggish. I think better off using a lower temperature thermostat.... :driver:

the thermostat is there for a reason, I suggest u put it back.
