NA or Turbo ?!!!

Aiya.. don care NA or SC or Turbo la. Modify the driver, sure win races one.

Modified driver = fast.
Modified car + modified driver = very fast.
Modified car + lousy driver = accident.

Last time F1 used to be running on Turbocharged engine. But after that it has been put into regulation to use non turbocharged 2.4, V8 engine (current). Heard that they want to reduce the engine capacity to 1.6L, V6 engine. Could it bring back turbocharging?

As far as I know, the cars were going too fast. If not mistaken was 1.5 twin turbos churning 800bhp, then switch to 3.0 NA V10. Heard they could get only 500 at the start and as time went on more and more until they met up with the power of the 1.5 twin turbos, then they switch to V8 2.4 NA. They actually wanted to slow them down, too fast and dangerous. At one time even add block underneath the car to break their aero dynamics. Yup, the could be going back to turbos....

Just too bad the TRD Supercharger kit specially for the Engine discontinued.

If I were not mistaken, the car driven by Senna was turbocharged. Then at Schumachers era, it is 2.6L V10 then boasted up to 3.0L V10. I remember Schumi said that it is much more faster Then to save cost, the lowered down the capacity to 2.4L V8. Ironically, the car doesnt slow down very much as technology has improved (kers, drs, double diffusers, etc). The sport has become more interesting that ever, especially this season of 2012.

There will be electric F1 soon ! Could it be a beginning of a new mod? NA + Electrified Car (not the usual hybrid, but with an additional electrical boost). We have seen many performance hybrid car, but none are modified into one. Proton Wirelectrilutioned
