these type of stripe lines are very commonly used in singapore and japan..

if u're in a hurry.. or is sick and tired of the stripes...
here's a tip:
after u've entered the 'big yellow line zone'... u'll only be running on 5 of the lines.. u can immediately change to the left lane, or right lane which is free of these thick lines.. (becareful of on-coming traffic..and make sure u signal first)...
