i m a new here. i was about to make booking on a brand new lexus is250. just wondering if it is a good buy? How's the resale value for lexus car? anyone can help here... Honestly i have fallen in love for the very first time it launched in the years back.

Can't speak much about re-sale value (non of us planning to sell, as we all just got our babies) but as far as i know the re-sale value is good.

is it a good buy? join our next TT session and judge for yourself............

trust me these guys all know what they are talking about when it comes to their rides.......... our TT sessions not for the faint hearted..............

i heard some rumors that the is250 is going for all new redesign coming soon after the new 2012 GS. i wondering should i wait till the new coming IS or get it now... planning to get the standard unit at 8k deduction given by lexus malaysia. (My favourite colour - bluish pearl) last unit

As far as i concerned, GS350 almost got cancel, wat do u think bout 250? I do not think its going happen till 2013 cause toyota is facing problem even camry itself supposingly launch in this year. U can do urself a favour b4 meet up with us, check out US or UK forums bout their experinced. I did it b4 get myself one. Basically, its what u paid for wat u get. I cant say its 100% better than others brand, each got their own ideas. Well, Wat ive tested for IS250, its good in fuel comp, very realiable, less wind sound, sporty design, etc. I used to drive bmw 3 series, maintenance wise lexus are more reliable, better mileage, more sporty, plenty of features, etc. Anyway, join us on next TT, check out the cars. :)

just went to lexus Penang last saturday. Met the salesperson. He told me the same thing. The 3rd generation lexus IS is not going for a new redesign until 2013. He told me to go for CT instead of waiting for the IS. Went for the test drive. Its "OK" but i still prefer the IS though. Furthermore the gov is now giving tax exemption for hybrid cars below 2000cc. He said it was a good buy. What do u guys think?

Hi, ichirosimon. Not sure have you decided to get the brand new IS250. My 1 cent comments for IS250 from LEXUS Malaysia as below:
Pro:
- Full size spare tyre
- Auto side mirror retract when car alarm is arm
- Rear fog lamps is available
- VDIM is available
- Navigation system with hard disk (if you buy the option)
- Bird's eye maple wood trim
- Improved paddle shift function
- USB port for AUX connectivity
- LED daytime running lights
Con:
- No AFS (Adaptive Front lighting System)
- No ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) option
- Passenger side no memory seat setting
- Navigation system is less advance than UK version
- DVD movie played only when car foot brake is applied

Here is there definition of PCS with ACC:

Pre-crash Safety System (PCS) with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
For even safer driving, your Lexus can be ordered with a highly effective PCS (Pre-Crash Safety System) that works with ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control).

PCS (PRE-CRASH SAFETY SYSTEM)

A radar sensor scans the road ahead to detect obstacles. If an obstacle is detected and PCS determines that a collision is unavoidable, the severity and nature of the impending impact is assessed. PCS then deploys the most appropriate safety devices to ensure injury risk is reduced to a minimum.

ACC (ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL)

ACC works in tandem with PCS, using the same advanced radar technology. It can maintain a pre-set distance from the car in front (at speeds between 40 km/h and 200 km/h).

Physically you can noticed it via the different front grille emblem & additional button control on the steering wheel.
