Hey guys, just wanna know what do you think of this current setup and also an issue that i'm having with the setup. would like your opinion on it.

JVC KD-G405 (cd & mp3) (50wx4)
Eclipse 6 1/2" component (with build in cross over) (75w) Front
Kenwood 6" component set. (200w) Back
Kenwood 10" Sub
550w Amp (used to power the sub only)

The cracking sound will happen when
a) The LOUD function is enabled.
however, if the Kenwood Component set is disabled, there is no more cracking sound or when the LOUD function turned off, all speakers will not longer have the cracking sound.

any idea what may be the cause of this?

It is very obvious that your HU's built-in amp is sending clipped signals to your speakers.
Either you turn off the LOUD function and listen with moderate level OR add an amp to power them.

Unker pisces is right.....your HU is being pushed over its limit....be careful that this does not happen frequently or for long periods.....clipping might cause your HU to fry....if you need high volumes...invest in an amp for the speakers...

Seefu Pisces has spoken.. take heed his wise words! :D

And ya, I agree with Uncle Pisces.

well, currently i have another 2 amps on hand (both are 2 channels) and i'm wondering whether should i changeover the component sets, eclipse to the back and the kenwoods to the front (and use an amp to drive the kenwood) and leave the eclipse as it is.

btw, i noticed, if without the Kenwood component sets in please, there is no clipping sound. ????
