need sum advice.
all the wirings i do myself...

my stetup:
alpine 9846e
- 1 preout RCA (front/sub selection)
- 4ch speaker level/high output

speaker:
blaupunkt velocity 60w rms
jvc bandpass jvc box

amps:
4ch : kenwood kac 748 - to drive speakerz
- 4ch rca input
- 4ch speaker level input
- 2ch rca lineout
- highpass / lowpass / direct controls

2ch/ bridgeable kenwood PS-100 - to drive the sub
- 2ch input
- stero / mono switch

since alpine players have this funtion to turn off the built in amp inside the player in order to improve sound quality....
but this particular player... when turn off the built in amp, it turns off the 4ch speaker level output (stated in manual n i hv tested).

turn of the built in amp got big diff in sound quality is it??

setup 1 : turn off Built in amp insde player

in this case.... i can only use the 1 preout rca (front mode)... n then use Y splitter for front n rear and use the line out of the kac-748 to drive the sub's amp.
in this setup... do i hv the built in player frequency contorls?

OR

setup 2 : turn on built in amp inside player

connect the 4ch speker level output from player to the speker level input of the kac-748 to drive the speakers. use the 1 RCA preout (sub mode) from the player to directly the sub amp (ps-100) to drive the sub.

loudness setting in player turn off for both setups?

so... which setup to use??

use the RCA pre out, not the speaker level.

input from HU to kenwood amp, then from kenwood amp 2ch line out to sub amp. try that first before using the y-splitter.

You already have a 4 channel amp, why dont you use it instead of using the HU built in amp which only will produce 20-25w rms.

You dont turn off the HU built in amp, you just dont connect the speaker output from the HU to amp.

The problem with Y splitter is it will create uneccesary noise. Some Y splitter has bad connection.

Agree with Zenn on the amp setup. In terms of loudness...... definitely more power = louder.

thankz dudes...
the prob with using just the 1 pre-out for that model is... the Sub Freq. 60 - 120 function settings on the player cannot be used... (so.. the function kinda wasted..)
so.. in order to use the funtion .. hv to turn on the speker level output or use electronic x over....
