guys ..

was on my way back to kl from penang last weekend..

while on the highway (at sg. perak i guess) after the tunnel, saw 3 unregistered unknown cars with proton badges cruising opposite (means going north ) driving at high speed..

all black and red colors, size is r'tively like the new picanto

is proton tryin to enter the supermini market? wat happens to the saloon and hatchback? not going so good eh lately.

weird thing is, if they trying to keep the cars as secret, why the show the badge eh.

btw sory ..x sempat to take the pics

The car that you see might be the Tiara Replacement Model (TRM).. I saw a few of this car at the North - South Highway during last Chinese New Year holiday.. It is said that this car will be powered by the Renault Clio engine..

so... is Renault Clio engine a good engine?... or is the technology back to 10 years ago?...

Not sure whether the Clio engine is good or not.. But kinda funny why Proton still want to use Renault engine as the Campro engine is now available? When the Gen 2 was launched, I heard that Proton will make a 1.3 liter version of the Campro engine.. Why don't use this engine instead?

AIYAH ALL TALK ABOUT REALIBILITY MAH.... IF CAMPRO OK Y STILL OPT RENAULT ENGINE....

yup i saw the exact car at proton plant shah alam.. parking in front of the vip parking..
in fact 2 of those are there last week..

sorry ninja_iga..i got this picture off the net from another forum..i'll remove it if u want to...

the Clio is more or less the best hatchback around, if I remember Car / Evo rated the latest model 3rd overall out of all new car models (including Porsche/ Ferrari/Evo etc) released in the past decade

ohh icic...now i recall the trm that has been rumored to be on the market soon. but sorry to hear that it's gonna use a renault clio engine..not campro..not to say la, if u have been investing hundreds of millions of dollars designing an engine that u dont use, it's a big waste . even a cendol seller can differentiate that. clearly there is something wrong with the campro recently.

i happened to see such convoy end of last year. one black hatchback escorted by two waja with trade plates driving along muar-melaka trunk road.

it didn't look like a SRM to me, so i truely believe it was TRM. what i understood that is the reliability test..make sure car reliable maa.. no overheating, aircond always ok, headlamp ok...no rattling noise..suspension comfortable when drive on rough and uneven road..things like that u see.

a fren of mine works at the Proton R & D, but platform division. u cud ask him anything bout new models but his response is that he is only exposed to platform of all proton cars. his job does not cover any other aspect. but according to him, proton always like to test their cars late at night..high speed run on the PLUS highway going up north and back before sunrise. fyi, most of road tests are done outside our country like Uk and australia.

the one u mentioned about must be the TRM...very close for launching.

thanks for being considerate! ;)

hey how to put watermarks eh?

hello guys.... :D
juzz wanna keep us all updatated regarding this car..
Actually proton got two new models now.
One is Tiara Replace model (TRM) and 2nd is Satria Replace Model (SRM)
According to the promoting management division from proton,
they will launch TRM first somewhere before middle of this year.
As mentioned by them too, this car will cost somewhere below 35K per unit and running using Renault Clio 1000cc. It was also metioned that this car is slidely bigger than kelisa and more spacecing than chevrolet Aveo. Be suprised, it will also come with tiptronic transmission.
As for SRM, not spesific information given, but they will run the car using Campro engine.

a :D hahah gud luck to our nasional car.. :P

No doubt... the car make over look are kind of cool.. but the performance..i'll prefer 4G93.
ahahha...:)

Aiisehh forgot to mention earlier...
TRM come with four door, and
SRM come with 2 door.

I saw a disguised SRM (I think) 2 weeks ago on KESAS just after Hicom. Design looks similar to Gen2.
Okla.
