Yup, many of my club members using SS 10w-40. That day I use diesel engine oil 15w-40 to flush the engine and you know what it was even quieter....

I actually have opposite results from you on my 4G63T. I have been on 10w-60 5w-50 5w-40 and 5w-30 and 30 is the noisiest when engine becomes hot. 60 weight a bit heavy, so I use between 40 and 50 weight oil and is some how quieter....

Actually I used either 5w40, 10w40, 5w50, or 10w50, never thinner than that. Initially tried 20w50 which ended up busting my HLA quite early, but maybe also due to not good oil quality. I think also the HLA got some differences whereby I noticed some has bigger holes hence should be fine using thicker oils too. The ones on my 4G67 which I replaced had smaller oil holes.

I don't know, I think you should be able to find in most Mitsu parts shops. If I'm not mistaken, those with bigger holes are newer version. I think those on my 1996 4G93 is like that while those on my 1991 4G67 is a bit smaller holes. Maybe you can compare first in the part shops. Pardon me for not being accurate with my info since I owned those cars very long time ago when I was still back in Jakarta, so kind of forget some exact details already.

Diesel engine oil with both rating means C for diesel and S for petrol. If strictly for C diesel then don't use.

No, that one I'm sure it's not. Coz I never use mineral oil before for my own cars. I used it only on my dad's beat up old Corona when I learned how to drive.
