I think you should be the one who should be more careful with your words. And you should think twice about trying to change my posts and putting your own words into my post just because you don't like me (for what reason, I don't know and I don't wanna know). In any case, since you're such a discriminating piece of shit, I ammended my post specially for you. Go back up and read it.

May I kindly suggest that you stop being racist-minded and take people's posts as a discriminating post. It is people like you who turns normal posts into racist/discriminating posts when clearly, it is just a general statement.

As for the negarakuku rapper, he is just saying out what is happening in the country. Go to other countries who follows the malaysian news. They will easily confirm for you that what the rapper said are just what's happening in the country. Being patriotic does not mean that you bash up people who speaks the bad facts of the country but rather, correcting what is wrong with the country to show other countries that we are not perfect, but we know how to fix our problems and get things right again and progress further from there onwards.

aiyo...relax la.

babi country not mean all ppl stay there babi, just like malaysia not all malay.

IMO, let car talk forum be car talk forum. dont spoil our interests all... we unite because all of us are car enthusiasts!!

Having said that, I don't think Protons are too bad once you have modded them...but then.....by that time they are no longer 'Protons' :proud:

Haha true, but the interiors would still have proton quality.. power windows failure and etc:proud:

You can't even differentiate between facts and law. Other countries is other countries? Go tell that to your beloved self and start to think of progression instead of regression. Call me a racist for all you want. The world knows who is the real racists are anyway. And I suggest you ought to just stick to the thread topic before this entire thread gets deleted or locked, which is pretty soon.

zan,
Yeah, we unite because of same interests but your wonderful friend, mr I-am-oh-so-powerful ealt, is putting out discriminating remarks which he is clearly and obviously denying. Perhaps if he has just an open mind, at least as open as the size of the tip of a pin, then maybe there won't be so much problems. Maybe you can try telling that to him because I didn't even flame him in the first place and he's shooting his puny guns all over. I was chilled all the while till he showed up. I'm fed up of people like him.

the difference is all inside.

steering wheel with better grip
new door trim with power window control switches at it
new centre console design
new front seat design, more supportive and comfy
new glove box
new look instrument meter

outside
floating grille ala Honda City/Civic
boot lid release handle

at 41K without road tax/insurance, its the cheapest 1.6 sedan in market. but the best thing is it has 5 years warranty or 175,000km!! peace of mind.

The price really attractive but the warantee wise:hmmmm:
hope that the internal not that sucks as Gen2lak...is ok already...hehehehe

Actually, it's good to have that long period for warranty but on the contrary, it could be scary too because there could be many various failures and you'd have to bring the car in many times even though the service and parts are covered under the warranty. hahaha This is what actually scares me because it'll take up lots of precious time if you have to bring the car in many times. And imagine, if many people bring in the car, you'll wait for eons before it gets to your turn. Unless there's many chicks waiting there with you, then I guess it's worth the wait... only if you manage to strike up a conversation with them. haha

honestly, as my wife owns a gen2 1.6 since 2004 and has chalked up about 70,000km it has only minor faults which has been verified.

it never has power window problems, nor other electrics as well as electronics

the problems with the car are its ECU (too bad i knew after warranty expired - poor mapping caused engine pinging noise during low speed acceleration), poor quality and rusty exhaust tail pipe (also happened after warranty expires), faulty ignition key (changed its battery and re-programmed) but the rests are all ok.

Proton had been listening - during my first drive at Gen2 test drive campaign in 2004, i listed these in their feedback

1. steering wheel has ppor grip, plasticky and look cheap
2. front seat has poor support and lack safety features in an event of whiplash (collided from rear)
3. power window siwtch not ergonmically located
4. cream interior prone to get dirty easily
5. parking brake difficult to operate
6. no active safety features like ABS and airbag

all has been fixed now.

talking about warranty, i think its just a matter of sales strategy
Proton is not new in giving super-long warranty.

in 1996, UK spec Personas came with

3 years or 60,000 miles (equivalent to 100,000km)
6 years powertain warranty
6 years antirust warranty
10 years paintwork warranty

plus 2 years free RAC membership (similar to AAM)

that was 11 years ago.

zan,
Well, since you've listed those things to proton and they seem to have fixed it, at least something has been done. My guess is that proton is trying to improve on it's quality before actually coming out with new designs for their cars. Or at least, it seems that way. But I must admit that the satria neo looks quite catchy. I won't mind owning a satria neo. Haven't had the chance to test the manual version, though. The automatic version really sucked in terms of performance. haha But for a regular drive around town, I'd say the cosmetics of the neo is quite alright. :)

wow sound impressive with a lot of improvement but this is only to those with shallow brain, superficial improvement won't do much good when they don't fit the car purpose at all, let alone the warranty given for 5 years if u do check the amount of complain in their service center before the establishment of so call "I-Care/Idiot Care", 5 years warranty??? I really doubt about their quality! Look at their pass history nothing is good at all. I rather stick to P2 and my old beemer!
