Guys,

I really need ur help here. Fyi, i've bought a mp3 player, KENWOOD brand (KDC-MP5029) about 1 year already... Last saturday, while i was start to drive & listening to my favourite cd for about 5 minutes, suddenly the HU light went off...I've try to press & hold the 'power' button to turn it on but nothing came out... My cd also stuck inside... So, i've went to an accessories shop to has a check. They've, checked on the wiring & fuse and it seems to be okay.. Then the mech put some wire to the 'reset' button (i don't know what the process call)...., the lights went on for about 30 seconds...& then automatically switched off... He asked me to refer to the shop from which i've bought it before....

Have any of u guys experience this before..?What should i do? Damn scared, if the HU is 'kong'...really expensive to buy a new one

maybe can try to replace the fuse on the HU, sometimes it breaks inside and we cant see. also did they check with multimeter/test light on the power wire? lastly is your battery ok? maybe got other electrical problems, check car fuse box also...

Thanks bor zenn for the assitance,

Yup, they did check with multimeter/test light on the power wire....The bulb lit, means the wiring is okay i supposed... The fuse, is behind the cd drvice set rite (have to take it out & see)? I don't see any fuse on the HU itself...but on the back of the cd drive, there is red fuse...The mech do not change the fuse... My car battery is in good condition, less than 1 year....The car fuse box, i haven't check it yet, i'll will take a look...& update here..

thanks again bro.

take the fuse out and test with multimeter....fuse break are not 100% can see thru ur eyes...but i soppose that the fuse didn break...it's kinda like ur hu gonna...............

I'll try ask the mech to do that howiechoo....if anthin wrong...Hopefully, the HU is not damaged & can be saved...or else

Is there any root cause for the problem....? trip wire/shorc circuit? Usually i detach the HU panel when parking at my house which is an open parking lot...scared fr being stolen.... In the morning, b4 go to work i'll attach it back..... come back from office detach it...My car has grounding cable & recently installed alarm...Do you think either the grounding cable or alarm could possibly caused the problem rite?

tq...
