Pioneer 5500 cd player. help needed

hi,

i have an old pioneer 5500 cd player. the problem is, when i plugged it in,
everything works fine. can search for radio, play mp3 cd and all.

only thing is there's no sound. checked the speakers and wiring all fine.
anybody know's where to send for repairs n roughly how much?

i was told it has something to do with the audio IC's. is it true?

emmm ive been qouted about 150-200.
need suggestions on which 'friendly' shops that can do a goob job for a decent price.

there's just too many so called 'friendly' shops nowadays....
