Hi there y'all...
Just wanna ask, is there any special tuners 4 MIVEC engine out there?
And, does anybody knows how to increase the MIVEC RPM range? Currently,
my MIVEC engine has only topped its RPM till 7,500++ only.

7500rpm? cannot be....must be something wrong with ur engine...come join ->mitsubishi->mivec club....
got many sifu there...
a stock mivec rpm cut at 8.2k....so there must be something wrong with ur engine...
ur mivec got kick in or not?
 
My MIVEC activates around 5600RPM. Modifications History:

1. Extensive Port&Polished Head
2. SAFC installed (5 Button Type)
3. 2.2' piping
4. Advance/Retard Cams Adjustment
5. Apex'i intake system
6. Oversized throttle body and intake manifold
7. FSE Fuel Regulator installed
8. Lighten Flywheel

Not sure if its fuel setting too lean or too rich. Gear shifts around 7,500 RPM.
 
ur mivec is sliver top or black top ?? if sliver top from lancer mx, yes, red line cut off at 7800rpm, so u can reach at 7500 should be no problem ...

black top from cybrog can reach untill 8200rpm , some of them can up until 8500rpm depand on ecu model.
 
ALL manual 4G92 MIVECs cut off at 8200rpm (regardless silver or black lahh)......7500 rpm cut off..?...u sure its not a 4G93 DOHC ecu...?....better check it 1st wif ur mechanic........they should know better.....
 
I've checked the ECU, and it's definitely a MIVEC ECU. Is there any other possible reason why the RPM cuts at 7,500?
 
then i'm not too sure.....i'll try ask my mech this weekend n try get answer for u...
 
actually our original RPM meter was not that accurate...

u said urs rev cut at 7500 mayb its not really cuts at 7500...iszit ur meter hav prob??
did SAFC hav the same function as RSM?? cuz RSM hav better calculation than original RPM meter....

ur mivec kicks in at 5600 but cut at 7500.....:eek:
 
my mivec stock,

free gear rev cut around 6.5k,
when running can go 8k rpm no prob.....

not to increase ur rpm range, but to find out ur problem first....
 
ps: no matter your car is on gear or not should cut around 8k.

and only if you engine is cold only will cut at 6.5k

hey brother, wanna enquire about your oversize throttle and your lighten flywheel . How many mm' is your throttle body that u oversized? and wat type of lighen flywheel tht u use?
 
Ok, i'll try to check my Cut-off RPM using RSM...
Not too sure abot the size bored, but it's max. N the flywheel is not a branded one. Just
skimmed it.
 
try take out your 5 button afc , that thing won't work on pressure
sensor or map

My mistake guys....
For the whole time, i only checked my max RPM with the RPM gauge yet i have an RSM. Re-checked it, and it shows that my max RPM is 92XX. Thanks for the help...But, why do RPM readouts are lower than given by an RSM? Signal still comes from the same source..
