Bro,
just wonder what are the minimum require metering stuff for turbo engine and its function?

1. Turbo timer --
2. Boost meter --
3. Oil temperature meter --
.
.
.
any else and pls tell me which one is a must to install, thanks..

For me these 2 are important:
1. Exhaust Temp
2. Oil Pressure

semm like we having different opinions here, but technicaly, which are the must to have?

there's no MUST have meters, its all up to individual preference.

for me

1:boost
2:water temp
3:exhaust temp

i found out water temp very important

with those extra meter u can monitor ur engine condition more easy

actually exhaust temp meter & oil temp meter are inter-link, they serve same to monitor engine temp, once oil temp raise, that mean water temp also raise.
so, i will prefer oil temp meter.

agree..
since water temp..can always refer to the engine temp gauge in the dash..
altho not so accurate..

do u guys think it's risky sumone uses juz a boost meter for an L5 and nuttin else?
..stock turbo though..?

Basic set of gauges for a turbo engine,

Boost = manifold pressure

EGT = Air Fuel ratio efficiency.

Oil press = Engine bearings and turbo bearing getting correct oil press, not too hi, not too low. Oil pump status.

Oil temp = The turbine heats up the oil much higher and rapidly. Oil temp too hi, low viscocity, engine damage.

Water temp = Engine coolant temp. and combustion efficeincy.

But with the rampant thefts of car accesories especially performance accesories going on, I think not a good idea to have all these guages.

Boost and EGT is already sufficient.

actually from where ppl tape signal to monitor the oil pressure & temp?
