At this stage of the season, the drivers championship title is probaly gonna go to either Kimi or Alonso....

1. Who you think is gonna win the 2005 drivers title?

2. Who would you like to win?

I would like to see Kimi win, but i think Alonso is gonna take the title...

Personally, i think Kimi is the better driver. His driving style just makes you go 'wow'. Its just that he's been a bit more unfortunate that Mclaren could'nt give him a good car early in the season. Alonso is a little stale in comparison, you don't really go 'wow' at his driving. But i ai'nt saying he's not good, or otherwise, he would'nt be where he is now...

Any views??

i agree in all the decision that you make....and alonso is gonna win the champ title......but i think maclren is gonna win the constructor champ!!!

i still hope that the ICE MAN wan win this title...he show very good driving skill and cool..like his style when he race his car

I feel kimi is gonna take it..cuz i realy want him to win..he drives well
but oni at times his luck is bad..but there is alwayz alonso man!!tough battle to the finish..my vote is to kimi!!

Probability suggests that Alonso will take the Driver's title. My gut wants Raikonnen(sp?) to win it.

In terms of ability, I liken them to 2 great drivers and archrivals of yesteryear. Prost = Alonso (calm, calculative, makes good decisions, consistent) and Senna = Raikonnen (just bloody fast!). Hopefully, they will be the next great rivalry in Formula 1.

well, this years race is tough on kimi to win the drivers champs..looking to the this year performance, we can see that alonso is very consistent both driver and car..this formula has brought what he is now..renault's car have never been left out during the race with the reliability of the car is very2 high..meanwhile mclaren (although the fastest car on the track..gooo mclaren!!) their lacking one of this factor..RELIABILITY!! if we compared both car head to head, mclaren are leading the race..because of one factor, they are left behind..anyways for drivers champs I think it will go to Alonso, but constructor..MCLAREN MERCEDES!!! hope next year will be the hottest race on this planet!!

Alonso have some bad technique to make sure the car at his back wont overtake him.

1. Who you think is gonna win the 2005 drivers title?
Alonso
2. Who would you like to win?
Kimi
:D

i would love to see takuma sato....hahahahhaha joking

love to see kimi win but seems like his luck has run out, remember 2 seasons ago, if the car doesn't give much problem, that would give kimi the title

come to think of it... yeah, they are rather akin to Prost and Senna...

There are several other similarities as well, for example, Prost is a bit of a twat and so is Alonso :D

can anybody share....
what needs to happen for kimi to take the title?? i'm lazy to do the math...
all i know is, with the remaining races the odds are against him.....

1. Who you think is gonna win the 2005 drivers title?

Alonso

2. Who would you like to win?

Kimi

I think Kimi is everybody's favourite driver here. So am i.

Without doubt, Kimi is the fastest driver now. He's just got the raw speed and talent and his driving is very consistent too. However, as a team, i must say Renault has the best package in terms of reliability, consistency and good speed. Mclaren obviously has the fastest car but unreliable.

true, renault also have a freakin fast launch control upon take off....

Actually has something to do with their engine design as well. Renault's V10 has better torque that allows them to power out of corners and accelerate off the line better, apparently.

no offence but jus a question.. apart from the feelings some of u hav about kimi shud be the fastest driver whats the fact u hav to back it? i mean well the mclaren is quick so kimi gets a pole n therefore he is quickest? no disrespect for kimi but then last time ferrari was damn quick n MS getting pole like no body business.. but some still say he isnt the quickest?

Alonso n kimi to me personally is on equal terms in terms of racing.. but i must admit i am not at thier level so my view could be deeply flaw

Crap! Kimi's bad luck continues and when it rains it pours! Nonetheless, he produced a courageous performance to come in 4th after all the incidents. He actually made up close to a minute of lap time to the leaders through all the drama. Tough luck Kimi! But no matter what, you're a champ in my book.

Well, I reckon you have followed all the races and the reports and everything, you should be able to see from there. No? Ok, look at his performances throughout the season. The sheer pace he has displayed almost every GP weekend. Being comfortably faster than his teammate and everybody else on the grid.

Take Monza for example. He had 5 laps more of fuel on board and he was still 2 tenths faster than Montoya on qualifying. And like I said earlier, he shaved off about 50 seconds on the leaders at the end of the race, despite all the incidents.

And it isn't just us dumb viewers claiming him the fastest driver, even the pundits and critics alike. Brawn raved about him as Schumi's successor and Ferrari are coveting him.

They are fucking idiots. I mean I'd argue to the end of the earth that he isn't the greatest ever. But he is without a shadow of a doubt, the finest of his generation. Apart from Mika for a while, he had no peers.

They are both fantastic and you are right, they are both in the same class. They are both championship material. Just different. Referring to my dodgy claim earlier in this thread, they are like Prost and Senna. Both mutilple world champions, both great drivers, both legends, BUT, in terms of sheer outright pace, Senna is the man. He just is. Same here, with Alonso and Raikonnen. Kimi just has more natural talent, more outright pace. He is just that little bit faster.

All that said, what really impressed me about Kimi the most is his determination and commitment to the cause. When things keep going horribly wrong against you, it is so easy to switch off and give up. Kimi was always giving everything, always a 100%, always full throttle. He has got guts, pride and a lot of desire. He maybe the Iceman but inside beats the heart of pure fire.

i must say i am very impressed.. well anyway using team mate as a yard stick is right even though quite controversial as u know montoya sometimes are outshine by less quick drivers. I mean he is fast but he can get beaten quick often by Ralf? or Pizzonia? Kimi never really had a strong consistent team mate.. david is quick but then not really consistent and was affected by the one lap qualifying system and montoya.. well put it this way.. he is quick alright.. but his performance is always clouded by diff sort of incidents.. crashes.. injuries.. u know what i mean.. however even so i do admit n admire kimi's speed and race craft and determination.. without a doubt he is one of the best drivers out there

back to alonso.. again if we do use team mate as a yard stick.. we can also get a glimpse of how quick is alonso as a racing driver.. ignore the minardi days as its obvious that alonso hav outshine his team mates who no offence is obviously less talented.. when he was in renault as a test driver.. he is consistently as quick if not faster than the 2 team mates of him (jarno and jenson).. and when he is a race driver.. well 2003 he has been as quick as trulli in qualifying (which is amazing considering trulli is considered as a one lap wonder and hav beaten ralf this season without a prob) and in race alonso always beat him.. 2004 jarno was better in qualifying and occasionaly the race early of the season but then its abit tough to guess the real speed as the amount of feul in each car is more or less a mystery.. but again when the season moves on alonso prevails again (though i must admit jarno might be affected by the politics inside renault).. this season well even i admire fisi very much (who incidently is also rated one of the quickest driver in this era by many) i must say he is kinda outshine by his younger team mate (evn though some of it is due to bad luck).. so if we do compare both by using team mate as a yard stick both drivers seems to hav incredible amount of raw speed and if u must say who is faster well u will be more likely to follow ur heart
