the 2005 F1 season is finally over... teams would be rushing for the big changes that is going be implemented next year...vigorous testings would be conducted over the winter season... but what is your thoughts on this season???

is FIA correct on their 1 tyre per race rule? is Alonso the worthy Champion? did Alonso have an advantage over Kimi? and the most doubtfull of all...is Ferrari staging a show to fool the Formula 1 grid into believing that they are finally falling apart and in hoping that FIA would loosen their grip in the ever tightening rules that seem to be intentionally made to prevent them from winning...

1) I don't think there is anything wrong with having the 1 tyre per race rule. Apart from Michelin's mistake at Indianapolis, there hasn't been any sign that it is detrimental to racing. I think it is good if it promotes the tyre manufacturers to build better tyres that is reliable and not solely just for outright performance. The pitstops have still been entertaining.

2) Alonso is definitely worthy.

3) What do you mean by Alonso having advantage over Kimi? Advantage in what sense? Car? Team? Skills? It is obvious Alonso has the more balanced package, having adequate performance as well as fantastic reliability, allowing him to challenge for the podium at every GP weekend. McLaren had the faster car but at the price of reliability and that ultimately cost them the driver's and constructor's championship.

4) You think Ferrari would go to such trouble for such a petty reason, if that is a reason at all. They had tyre problems with Bridgestone and their package for this season hasn't been able to overcome this handicap. Every dog has its day. Ferrari had 5 shining seasons in the sun. Bad luck is bound to catch up sooner or later.

5) The new rules were made to promote competition and therefore more exciting races. Not as a grudge against Ferrari. If they were competent and focussed, with the budget they have, any rule change should not affect them as much as it does the smaller teams with less budget. I believe the stricter rules can only be good for the sport, as long as it doesn't affect the racing as a spectacle. It is a motivation for continuous evolution of the sport and the technology.

yup agree with silverfish

the tyre rule doesn't seem to have negative effect, cars are still doing faster laps than previous season

i think alonso is a worthy winner, kimi is damn fast but alonso is sensible, driving blindly fast doesn't guarantee top of the podium, alonso had also show us all that he can be fast too, his overtake on schu sr on 130r in suzuka showed us what he can do when he uncapped his ability

if such a conspiracy theory is even true, they wouldn't let them down for the whole season. maybe their R&D is so fast that they have fully developed their car last season, and they can't develop it anymore this season. but one of main reason actually is their tyre, with bridgestone only getting feedback from slower running cars, its hard to get proper input

i think current 2005 season's rules are already good, qually is good, driver will try to get best ever finishing position to have better qually start, one tyre set per race is also good to minimise cost. cost and budget control is good, meaning all team will have about equal chance and competetiveness.

It's sad to say goodbye to Jordan, Sauber and Minardi......

Will Renault be able to hold the constructor's championship next year?
Will McLaren will still can only achieve second spot only?
Will Ferarri strikes back?
Will BAR and Toyota really able to threat the big teams?
Will Williams reinstate their status as constructor's championship contender?
Will Red Bull blossomed into challenging team?

These all will make 2006 season more exciting, new V8 engine, can't wait for march, but A1GP will do for now, go Alex Yoong!

When will the FIA change the rules to one tyre supplier? I heard Michelin is unhappy with the decision one tyre supplier. Williams will be using Cosworth engines and Bridgestone will be their tyre supplier.

F1 image in the U.S is already ruined because of what happened during the last race at Indy and also Bernie's bad remarks against Indy Racing League driver Danica Patrick.

Thank god its over, hallelujah.

oh btw suchap69, i don't think "cars are still doing faster laps than previous season"(both race pace and qualifying), i think they were only faster in not more than 3 tracks. In most of the tracks, they were slower by at least 1s.

i dun like the rules of 1set of tyre per race..its too dangerous..FIA hav to think bout the safety of the driver as well..and i dun think alonso is a worthy winner..for me renault is a worthy winner bcoz if its not bcoz of their strategy and their crews i dun think alonso can be the world champion..for me renault is the world champion..thats only my 2cent..

Agreed. I hardly hear of any race where the drivers nurse the tires the whole race. Try to watch the American racing series like CART, Indy and Nascar. No stupid rules like the FIA such as 1set ot tyre per race, they just let the drivers race even though they always bend the rules. The Renot F1 car is a car which is gentle on the tires.

They should change the tyre rule before someone got killed...for me this is season is not a fair season..they cant push very hard bcoz the tyre rule..we want a fair race..

Too Bad, Ron Dennis didn't see it, He thinks that FIA is helping Ferrari again.

yeah..the tyre rule does subject some risks into the sport...but that is wat FIA wants...

let's not argue bout the tyre thing...i think this has gone through many times...hehhehe

Alonso...yeah he is the champion...undeniable...but it will be interesting to see how long he can hold it...sure would like to see those Senna VS. Prost days happening again between Alonso and Kimi...

Alonso was quoted before saying Kimi is a very lucky guy for the few engine mishaps that he had..as his engine mostly blew on practice days and not on race days itself...as though as it is not bad enuf to get a 10 placing penalty...but comparing Alonso to Kimi...the few times Alonso having bad times he still did scored some points except for the only time he met with a wall this year....Kimi...when he was having a bad time...he scored mostly nil...is McLaren to be blamed for for Kimi's lost of this year WDC title...maybe yes...but imagine the effort he had to put in to get the points he had collected so far...

all the new rules that came into ruling this year was not because of competition...they were thinking with their stomachs...
