Is there any imitation(not original) Pioneer HU in the market??

What I don't understand is the mention on water sets inside components are different than the one you get from local distributers. I thought they are the same products? Please educate me on this.

some of the water sets, wat we called AP set, made in different places... for example, the Pioneer HU distributed in Indo or Filipines, made by different countries than those distributed in Malaysia. get wat i mean? so wat i mean is mayb malaysia service centre doesnt import those components for repair.

a lot of things can be replaced.. but we dunno tat thing might spoil ur entire HU electronic boarding or not becoz u dunno whether its compatible wit ur HU or not.. and even if those spares work wit ur HU, i think d performance will decrease.. and y u wanna bother getting replacements?? u can save 100 or 200 in buying AP HU. but u might need 2 pay more for d replacements of d components in ur HU. u calculate urself lo~

My questions:
Why some people say underwater sets cannot get service from local service centres?

Reason for the question has been stated in my post earlier. I can understand why service center don't want to service imitation or pirated products, but, underwater products should have the same service as a local distributed products right? If I went travelling and bought something, does that mean when I use the product in Malaysia, the local service centre will not entertain my request if I have problems with the product after years of usage?

When I say replacements, I am referring to the parts that's needed to be replaced once the unit becomes faulty. Not buy new underwater HU then replace the parts. And replacements should come and be done by Authorised service centre. Which I would presume that they know what is the alternative parts and how to replace it.

maybe they can do what wo kee hong does for service & repair of alpine units bought from outside msia, they charge something extra called registration or something..

i think i dont explain clearly.. now, let me say it again.. no hard feelings ya? AP sets ar, some of the warranty not recognised by local service centre. even if the warranty card looks like real one or watever, when the ppl open up ur HU, they will know whether ur HU is AP or original. n' its kinda hard 4 them 2 repair the HU since the comp is not d same as wat they knew. n' even if they know it, mayb the one they replace in ur HU will cause more faulty.. we kenot assume tat every original things match wit AP things. if ur AP HU is same wit local HU, then u r lucky lo.. but for me, i wont take d risk.. i ever bought an AP JVC HU. i used it for half yr, i encounter wit faulty wit the gear in the head lens. i brought it to local service centre to claim warranty, they said its AP set but still they accept it.. but i repair the things liao, d probs still exist.. now understand wat i mean?? do i answer to ur ques?? :-) basically, it depends on the service centre wanna accept ur products or not.. some dun wan accept it becoz its kinda troublesome for them but some do accept..

How can it be different when they are from the same factory, unless its imitation product. They varies only in term of country origin but basically if u take alpine most of the things is the same,worst come to worst they will charge you more for helping you sent your unit back to their Hq in Japan. u only need to pay them and wait.

same comp varies.. depend on where the factory alocates. i encounter this b4.. i compare my HU wit my frend's HU. he bought an AP set tat hav a warranty from a local service centre. and as i mentioned earlier, some of the factory produce low quality stuffs. products from thai and china varies in terms of their qualities. do i make sense?? huhuhu~~ some of the AP sets, remember, r unwanted goods tat din bypass the QC survey.. so pls b careful.. we dunno where n' how they get the products.

use 1.5 years....still like new 1....
but bcoz wana ugrade to 3 rca HU....juz sold on last 2 week.....

now using new pioneer.....play scatech disc also kenot.....
i bought my pioneer the seller said tat is local pioneer....but i din receive any warranty card!!!! but got 1 year warranty from tat seller....so far....the player used 2 weeks no problem....juz quite sensitive with scatech dic!!!

izit?? but wat i experienced is JVC HU more sensitive than Pioneer HU bo... tats y i changed to Pioneer becoz of tat... which JVC model u compared wit Pioneer HU?? but i m not sure bout original JVC lar... lolzZz... wat i bought is AP set... lolzZz... but i never encounter any lag in Pioneer HU b4 even if i put scratch CD.. but then, its not advisable 2 do tat becoz it will spoil the head lens..
