not only smelly... fiberglass resin fumes are harmful too.. some say that you can get fiberglass stuff cheaper from the boating shops. bad news, i dono any boating shops around kl...

i have heard that the fiber glass fiber is dangerous , it mihgt cause cancer becasue when u are breathing ... the fiber itself can be sucked into the lung ...
my teacher said this ...

bridgestoneRE711

yep, that's CORRECT.
the minute dust of fibreglass is like blades/needles. It'll cut anything inside our body.
the 'itching' you get when you handle fibreglass?

it's actually miniature cuts. So stop scratching!

hehe drink acetone to get rid of fibreglass resin +++ in body....hehehe

p/s but just dont say i asked u to

oi oi !!

it's NOT the resin you should be worried about, it's the mat (fibreglass) itself!

LOL

ya, ninja_iga is rite, the irritation cause by fiber is the cut in your hand. its damn irritating man... but u'll get used to it.
i had handle the fiber without breathing mask and glove, still alive here man..... u are not using it like grinding it or cutting it ... u just moulding it or sticking it with the resin. its not that dangerous.
but if u cutting it with grinder (after it harden) then u really need a breathing mask........... dont play play. the dust caused by the cutting is irritating too. hell fiber is irritating. wakakaka.......

hmmm... quite hazadarous also. I guys bottom line is that all things which are found in fibreglass bodyshop should just be bought. Cheaper, less hassle and cheaper i guess since all the materials are mostly sold in bulk or either too expesive.

Anyone else has other locations on the where abouts to get the items? (fibreglass mat / resin / etc )

Hehehe...talking about fibreglass. Is it possible to mate fibreglass to ori bumpers? Just thought about ducting from the sides of the front bumper to calipers.

yes, its possible. the resin can stick to almost any surface. i even seen people put fiber on metal (in repairing a front bonnet of a kenari) ... and do many custom design on metal and PU .... not a problem.
but it need technic and time consuming.

Oh...I really dunno how to play around with fibreglass...But thanks for the reply bro. At least now I know something oledi...

well , first of all fiberglass is very dangerous . the mat that is . the chemical are very sticky and smells !! . i've done various things with fiberglass at my home and the complains i got is a lot . the smells when fiberglassing , the thing cure and the dust when u are grinding or sanding the thing is like someone burn down a whole tree !! . but it's your choice .. anyway here's my latest projects .

1st picture .. door panel. the whole door panel are made from fiberglass and i sent it to a carpet shop to wrap it with PVC sheet .
