Engine need to warm up or just a myth?

Just as long as one doesn't start a burnout as soon as the engine fires up, there shall be no concerns

In most situations, creeping off from the car park as soon as the engine starts, it'll be fine

What Tom said.

I think we are way past the times when engines needed to be procedurally warmed up. Modern engine systems do not require you to molly-coddle them to the extant that people seem to think.

The thread title and the context of where it is posted is also a little bemusement. I lived in countries with far far colder climates and we are now here right smack in the middle of the Tropics with 60%+ humidity and folks are worried about cold starts ? You are nowhere near the tipping point and far removed from any sub-zero situations.

Don't worry la
