Bro,

what is the different in VDO & MMC in wira 4G series? and how can i spot what ECU i'm using now in my wira 1.3 injection

I only know the difference in sgti 1.8,
MMC - no speed or rev cut
VDO (siemens) have speed & rev cut.

vdo use siemens vdo ecu (which the name vdo came from)
-different throttle body special to vdo model only
-use map sensor
-use crank sensor
-distributorless type ignition

mmc use mmc ecu
-similar to other 4g series throttle body type
-use maf sensor
-no crank sensor
-use distributor type ignition (or cam sensor)

which mean MMC more better then VDO, and much more space for upgrading as it similar wit 4G series...

Just check these areas that is circled. MMC is different in these areas and also some other less noticeable areas.

this is my engine.... if not mistaken this is MMC type right

Yes, MMC. Looks almost the same with mine but yours had one extra wiring on top of the fuel rail and injector that I don't have. Your wire is exactly beside the throttle cable.

This is mine.

In this picture, it looks ok but I think it still needs more cleaning especially near the block area. A lot of engine oil residue. Difficult to clean that.

MMC got trade in value. kedai potong still want, i think.
my wira 2002 VDO engine, they not even want to smell it.

Thank you. That was an old pic. Now it looks cleaner. I din't use anything unique to clean the engine. Just wipe with wet cloth and rinse with water. Around twice a week.

Mine cincai method only. Since already quite clean, just use wet cloth and wipe away dust. Don't even need 15 minutes to finish it.

Only the inner hard to reach parts will clean once in a while. In those places, can still find oil stains and hardened dirt. I don't have chemical to clean those. Manually rub and rinse with water seems too slow.
