I received a parking compound that was sent to me through mailing letter yesterday.
It was from the Selayang Municipal Council and the compound stated that my car had parked at one of Selayang Municipal Council designated car parks but did not pay the parking fee back in 5th of June.

I would like to ask fellow ZTH members here a few questions regarding this matter:
1) Is there such thing such as parking fine that mail to your house address?
2) Shouldn't the authorities give me a parking fine on the spot if I had committed the offence?
3) Can they prove that I had committed the offence since they can't give me a summon on the spot but sending the summon to my house?
4) Should I argue with them about it since they doesn't have any proof that I had committed the offence?
5) Any chances for me winning the argument with them about it?

Thanks!
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

I've been through such a case about 5-8 years ago in P.J. + I'm not so sure about now. Below are my answers to you. Hopefully it can be some sort of assistance.

1.) Yes
2.) Yes, they should.
3.) They told me they've the picture taken. I don't believe them though. I don't remember me parking without a ticket displayed.
4.) It's advisable not to argue with the authorities unless you have concrete proof. Very subjective matter.
5.) That would really depend on proof / evidence / witness (etc) that you and the Selayang Municipal Council will present for this case.

Just my 2 cents. Try to ask those that've experience winning a case like this would be better. :burnout:

I also receive 2 ticket from MPS.They post to my house. There written said i didn't buy parking ticket and the date summon is on May.I also forget May i got park that place or not.I also don't know want to pay or not

NRC, thanks for your feedback.

I'm still wondering whether I should pay the summon or not.
Haiz...
