Yes, you get demerits when you are involved in an accident and if you are at fault. My grandpa has been in several minor accidents and for each that he was at fault, he got 6 points demerited.

my friend was in the same situation last time, he got damn pissed, he ended up buying the cheapest new bumper available, plus gave money for the paint.

funny part is my friend did not tell him that he bought a new bumper for him, he just call him to meet at this place and so that he's going to give him the money. so went to this restaurant, put the bumper on the floor and pay him rm100. the bumper is a new one wrapped in plastic. told him thats the price for one particular paint shop and he just quickly walked away.

that guy got a bit confused and don't know what to do with the bumper and the money. so he called my friend through the handphone and say that he doesn't know the place and call him out to meet again. my friend just replied "you want me to send over to paint shop can also but i'll charge you rm50 for it because i already gave you a new bumper plus spray cost as you requested. so now if you want me to deliver it, of course i need to charge extra". and the other guy just hang up after that :P
