Thanks for the replies guys.
Basically this will be for my stock daily ride. Not looking to attack corners with it but at least can travel safely on highways 140-160kmh on dry. Car soundproofing is pretty bad, hence the need for quieter tyres.
I've tried PS3 before but it is rather noisy, no doubt grip is good (but soft sidewalls).
Is Goodyear Asy3 quiet? Never heard of a quiet Goodyear tyres.
Is PS4 much quieter than PS3?
Since V551 is bad in rain, I'll skip that.
What's the price like for PS4 or Asy3 size 205/45/17?
Fleva should be relatively quiet (rated at 67-69db only) but yeah not sure anymore of how good the grip is, some say pretty good some say not so.
F1A2/3 seems to be the best choice for high performance tires but relatively quiet too (also rated around 67-69db) which is a very rare combo, but the price is pretty steep as still made in Germany.
PS4 maybe quieter than PS3 but I suspect not so much difference. It's still rated at 70-71db if not mistaken which is twice as loud as the Fleva & F1 noise rating!
(any 3db increment means twice as loud).
Other option that you may consider are Hankook V12 Evo2 and S1 Evo2, but both are also still rated 70-72db.
Others like F1D5 and Continental CSC5/3 are also rather noisy.
So yeah, not many choices. if got money go for the F1A2/3. If no budget then maybe only the Fleva. Otherwise just forget about the noise la, it won't improve your car's handling nor safe you in emergency situation so not important. Just do like I do, turn the music louder!
(I'm using CSC5 & 3 btw).
