Aston Martin's first SUV arrives Malaysia! The 550ps DBX looks more like a sportscar on stilts and raises the bar for sports SUV with its dedicated chassis, built on a rigid, lightweight bonded aluminum construction.

4.5 sec / 550ps / 700nm / 4L V8 twin turbo / 9 speed automatic / 291kmh / 2245kg / adaptive suspension / rear E-LSD / carbon prop shaft / RM818,000

Powertrain

A new 4L V8 twin turbo, taken from the DB11 and Vantage is based on AMG's M177 as seen in the E63S, then tuned to sound and respond like an Aston would. It makes 550ps / 700nm and enables the DBX to leap from zerotohundred in 4.5 secs on to a top speed of 291kmh

Drivetrain

A 9 speed torque converter automatic and 4WD drivetrain sends power to all wheels. There's is an active central differential to decide how power is distributed front and rear, while a rear electronic LSD bestow the SUV DBX with sports car grip in the corners.

Adaptive Suspension

The adaptive suspension is a combination of a triple volume air suspension and electronic dampers, powered by new 48v electric anti roll control system (eARC). This system can exert 1,400Nm of force per axle which actively keep the DBX leveled and bestows it with greater range of abilities. It can also raise or lower ride heights by 45mm and 50mm respectively.

Inside

The 5 seater DBX feature a full length glass panaromic roof and frameless doors. The cabin is mostly made of wood, metal and glass. Its seats are trimmed in full grain leather from Bridge of Weir while the headlining are upholstered in Alcantara.

Screen wise, there's a 12.3" TFT for its instrument cluster and a 10.25 TFT for the center console. There is a 360 degree camera system on board, 64 colour ambient lighting and Apple CarPlay is included as standard. The DBX posses 632L of boot space and the folding seats split 40:20:40.

“Aston Martin has boldly ventured into unchartered territory with the addition of an SUV that has all the brand’s trademark luxuries combined with dynamic sports car capabilities. The DBX’s striking design echoes the unmistakable style of Aston Martin’s iconic sports cars and is matched by its impressive versatility in performance. It has already sparked great interest worldwide and we’re thrilled to now offer this dynamic model in Malaysia,” said Mr. Kumara Sooriar Sivanasan, General Manager of Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur.

The rear looks like a sad face.
The front looks like a porky Aston Martin. Like, ate too much during MCO and didn't do any exercise.

No extra angles of the front photos?

One by one , all into SUV market......lol
I'm more curious as to Lotus's SUV.
Is it going to be really "add lightness" or its going to be a fat luxobarge.
