RON95 & RON97 Myths and Facts

De-tune? then better not drive.....:driver:

How much power will you loose if you tune to 95?

I'm going to try a few more rounds using 97 to verify the FC again.
In terms of power, I do feel a slight difference in low-mid rpm whereby A/T does not downshift as often/quickly, hence speed build up is smoother with a more continuous pull.

I hate to admit it but I felt this too on my Sylphy. 95 made the ride very revvy so the smoothness isn't there since I have to rev to get the power I need. 97 on the other hand doesn't need to downshift (or in my case - pedal down) as much. But this was only after the 2nd tank refill after using 95, meaning 3rd tank only felt this. Which is weird.

I'm gonna retry 95 + additive again and see if I can replicate the 97 feel.

No tested on dyno, but I have retarded my timing before and the initial pull is hopeless

I did post before the first time when switched from 97 to 95, my problem came on from the 3rd tank only. Probably the ECU adjusting itself?

weird la. My wira effect could feel much quicker. Sylphy super slow. Next time I'm going to try resetting ECU after fill. Maybe it'll be faster to adapt.

to be frank... 97 and 95 dont make that much diff for my altis...

graph is plus minus the same with a diff of 1 NM/1HP +/- across the range which can easily be attributed to the weather...
lol
but the graph for RON97 is slightly smoother.... but not by much...

weird...
maybe cuz my altis is a family car?

Red is 97
Blue is 95

Felt the same....does have diff some how around low-mid.

I am on RON97 atm for 2 tankes already and it has made zero difference. No power increase, no smoother feel, no better fc, nada. Nip. Nein. Nothing.

I'm gonna save that RM8 bucks and use 95.

save that RM8 and buy me lunch instead...

the first 1/3 of ur powerband shows difference of about 3-7 ps pretty consistently it seems...curve is relatively 'rounder'...starts tapering off halfway through but still above the 95 line most of the time

pretty decent results i feel as we're using the first bit of the powerband 95% of the time

Your Altis boost how high, probably not much effect on twin scroll?

Btw my car compression is already 12:1, so that's why maybe does make a difference but just slightly only, so might not warrant the price difference anyway.

Those who know him, he name his car altis only. His is 1.4tsi, you show know what car dy....
Now you know why the torque good.....

Now I get it. He and SF purposely mix up each other's car name. Jetta for SF. Altis for kcng.
