You're driving and it starts to rain. When you turn on your windscreen wiper to swipe the water, the skreaking sound starts.

I've changed my wiper few times already but it still sound everytime i turn on the wiper.
Could it be the cause of:
a) Oily surface on the windscreen?
b) Windscreen's problem?

I don't think is the wiper's problem as I'm using good quality wiper.
Does anyone have the same problem that i'm facing?
Please help...

I've tried using silicon wiper & normal wiper (Borsch) but still there is sound. I never apply anything on the windscreen before.

Bro.. i faced prob like u b4... well.. u can try this.. but not oo hard ler..
this happens to me when my wiper blade holder (the one connected with motor) make it more bend to fully grip on windscreen.. then my problem solve.. i'm not sure about urs...

One of the problem could be a worn out joint (metal rod to push the wiper) I am having this kind of problem. It is not the glass or the wiperblade but the joint where the wiper motor spinning and pushes the rod to move the left side wiper.

I do experiment to isolate the sound.
1. With constant water flowing over the windscreen while turn on the wiper. The sound heard.
2. Then turn off the wiper. (Free the left wiper from touching the windscreen) and turn on the wiper again to hear any sound? if no sound then confirm that the left wiper connecting rod joint worn out. Apply slight load on the left wiper using your hand while it is still ON and the sweeking sound comes back.

yhoo.. guys.

I also facing this kind of problem. Recently evening heavy raining around klang area. On wiper than sound very annoying.

I think change the wiper motor should solve the sound problem.
I wonder how much it cost for the wiper motor? Anyone of you know?

Thanks.
