Dear bros,

i would like to change my Vios 05' exhaust system but is making decision whether to change my extractor to a 4-1 system (bigger diameter & stainless steel) or a 4-2-1 system (stainless steel)

i would like to have your opinion

bullet im going for hotbit and muffler im goin for twin loop S-flow similar to mugen type

thanks & regards
teck

Original Vios setting is already good. Do you want better acceleration or smoother drive? Changing to extractor 4-2-1 won't help in increasing top speed and driving Vios should be comfortable right?

4-2-1 improve on Acceleration.
4-1 improve on higher end power

I think vios acceleration is adi not bad...

well I'm kinda greedy here haha ...
I want more acceleration but in the mean time I don't want to lose my top speed ...
my exhaust dude asked me to change to a stainless steel 4-1 which he also said has a bigger diameter ...
I understand that Vios accerleration was not that bad, well as I said I'm kinda greedy and want more ...
so I'm here to ask for opinion or advise for those who has changed their Vios exhaust system

You are right...Vios can beat many cars on the road already...even for top speed, it is not bad for a 1.5L category.

4-2-1 improve on Acceleration.
4-1 improve on higher end power

yours auto or manual?if auto better go for 4-2-1...

4-2-1 = street use/long distance
4-1 = mostly for drag racing/400m

Bro...

4-2-1 gives you better low end torque hence better low rpm acceleration. 4-1 is usually for high end power. So unless you always drive past the region of 5k rpm, it is best to stick with 4-2-1. And the stock 4-2-1 is good enough. Vios is a comfortable town car and the engine is not designed for high rev.

My experience with my 4AFE 4-2-1 + 2.0" end pipe diameter is bad enough. Even when I kept the extractor stock and only increase the diameter of the piping towards the end, there is a noticable drop in torque in low rpms and a slight increase in FC.

Even if you want torque, I suppose that in a vios, you would want huge amount of torque from low rpms so that you can have a smooth, less vibration, quiet acceleration as this is what vios is made for.

With that amount of money you are willing to spend, I may suggest that you put a low-pressure turbo to your vios. Vios engine can take light boost as the Vios TRD in thailand are.

If you would like high revving madness, and don't mind about noise, then get something like a 20V blacktop and use 4-1 extractor.
