I look at this thread and wonder to myself if the author is not actually getting himself deeper and deeper into the unknown with one modification following another.
From my understanding, springs have all their handling and damping qualities built-in and calibrated by the manufacturer under controlled conditions. If you go around and cut the spring, you change these qualities and there really is no telling what you have actually messed with. Your car may feel OK now but are you absolutely sure it will behave consistently over the whole range of driving situations with those cut springs ?
Knocking mudguards and doing sorts of subsequent mods to the car all because to satisfy some cut springs (which was not prudent to start with) does not sound very wise to me.
Not trying to put you down dude, but for what it's worth, I rather do the safer alternative by dumping the cut-springs and re-installing new (proper) springs. I'm having GAB installed in my Iswara soon. As one of the posters mentioned, GAB is inexpensive and quite good too.
