ya i actually wanna DIY, but the wiring part how to do bro? like im a bit scared i screw something up la.. if there is a proper DIY thread *HINT HINT HINTTTTTTT* from a respected forum member whom we appreciate *hint hint hint* again... ill be confident to do it.

last time when they did my prev car, i wanted the amp at the back.so they removed some panels, to do the wiring, near the gear lever and the side door step panels...so i dont really like all that..tahts why i need to know if this thai woofer is gonna be worth the install...if not, i rather just wait till next time and get a proper setup.

and my wife ah bro...anything i do also she knows...when the car slightly faster or performance improved she knows....decreased also she knows... if ICE..all the more she knows.. hahahaha...so even if i dont tell her...she is gonna know.

Your wife is scary.

As for the DIY :

You just need one pair RCA and one 16ga copper wire. The RCA goes from the amp to the HU rear/sub preout. The copper wire goes from the amp to the HU's wireloom 'ignition'.

Then you'll need to pull a 8ga / 6ga or 4ga (since yours is low power, 8ga enough la) power cable from your battery to the amp. Add in a box fuse just before the battery terminal.

After that it's just tuning the HU.

Btw, what car do you drive?

cant believe i missed those write ups.. thanks bro. will read it through.

airtrek turbo..i read somewhere that the wiring needs to be done through the fender for airtrek...not too sure why that is..im sure there is a hole somewhere in the firewall...need to check with the guys why they do it through the fenders instead..

looks simple enough...those cables and such you get it from accessory shops right? any standard pricing or what to expect when i get those wires and cables. any way to be able to see which is quality cables and such.

I actually have a wiring kit at home, the whole kit from Stinger. It has everything I mentioned so you just need to buy the kit and install. I'll go back and take a pic for you later tonight. It's priced between RM250 to RM300, I can help you find out if you want.

Alternatively you can opt to get a el-cheapo RCA 5M (if you want to put the amp in the boot) for RM30 at any accessory shop, then the copper wire just strip it off some old wiring you have at home. Quality not quite the same as the wiring kit though.

As for tapping ignition, you need a test light or test pen. Turn your ignition on and off and keep testing the wiring loom until you get a light that follows the ignition.

the kit sounds too pricey for me. ill look around for the cables and check out the pricing..

tapping the ignition part also sound quite simple.. should be all good..
