Hi guys, I drive a Satria 1.3i year 2000 manual. I had this car for 2 years now and I baught it second hand in stock condition. I've changed my rims to 16", 421, and bullet. I change this quite a while ago but only now im noticing my card poor fuel consumption because I started using this car for long journeys.

Caltex 95 RM50 gets only +-230KM. I don't rev my engine too much, always shift gear at the appropriate time and my speed never exceeds 140KM. Is this normal for my kind of setup. It's because I see many users with satrias as well get more distance.

yr 1.3 engine with 16inch rims, of cos fc a bit high, but rm50 is only 26.3litre and u can do 230km, so its 8.8km/litre, quite high for a 1.3, usually it can do at least 10-11km per litre.

my 2 cents, go back to at least 14 inch rims and u will notice the different,

16" is too big, follow like EvolutionZ suggested, go back 14" or to me 15" is the best balance per performance

How is your engine's health? Service it regularly?

Im using Satria 1.6 auto with DOHC v6 1.6 6a10 engine..fuel consumption quite good..i mean less consumption..hehe..i gt a cool 230 km/h top but gotta prob with pickup...how actually i can solve this prob? n im using twin muffler GTI piping..

DOHC V6, it is because your engine is heavy plus it is only a 1600cc engine, the torque is more or less the same like a normal SOHC/DOHC 4 cylinder engine

avoid hard braking and hard acceleration...sure save a lot of fuel.

do a service on your throttle body, could actually help on the fuel consumption part...

Bro, my first car that i had was satria 1.3gli. I noticed in standard condition also it already consume more fuel. I've never change anything to the car. It's in stock-stock condition. In my point of view that time was it's a car with underpower engine that will consume more fuel even it's in light weight chasis.

Air Filter change every service.
About RM20.00 for stock filter go to car separate part shop get one then DIY yourself.

Clean the Air-con filter as well or replace the new one. DIY RM20~RM40

Spark plug ?About DIY change it about RM45 per set of NGK platinum spark plug

Oil change ? Depend on brand.

Tyre pressure. Must alway maintain the recommended pressure. You may over pressure about 3% as recommended by the proton it do help little in fuel saving.

Check all the issue & drive not above 90 km/h.

Then You were notice a lot of fuel saving.

Your car is fuel injection I believe? If yes, get is diagnosed especially your O2 sensor. And please, 16" is just not going to work well on 1.3 cc.

i also driving a Stock Satria 1.3 year 2000 .. so far my best FC was Rm75 Max out 599KM ..
but now only manage hit 450KM with RM60 ..
all stocks except K&N drop-in air filter ..

actually many factors contribute to the FC... Im Satria (2000) user too...
RM50 - 400+ km - fully highway driving
RM50 - 290+ km - highway + town driving
RM50 - 230+km - only town driving

fyi, mine not a standard 1.3...
