Hi, I recently bought the Eclipse CD5425 HU. The HU comes with 3 pairs of preamp outputs, i.e. Front, Rear and Non-Fader. My installer used 2 pairs of RCA to connect the Front and Rear preouts into my 4ch amp. The first 2ch is connected to my component speakers whereas the last 2ch (bridge) to my subwoofer. What is the function of Non-Fader preout? Should I connect the last 2ch into Non-Fader preout instead of Rear preout and what is the pros and cons.

I saw my friend using Naka HU (not sure about the model) and his HU got the capability of control the subwoofer level. I think this is a cool feature so that I don't have to adjust at the amp. Not sure if my 5425 HU has the similar capability?

Thanks.

the non-fader RCA out is usually connected to subwoofer amp...

with this connected, you can control the sub volume in the specific function, and also might be able to control the low pass frequency as well, (but I don't know your HU able to do this or not

Hi Spentnaz & Calvinhpk, thanks for the clarification.

How come my installer not aware of this?

Need to find him to correct it.

probly he is used to seeing "sub out" label instead, hehe...

zenn, you could be right. i remembered asked him why my cd5425 do not have the sub out as compared to other high end model. i also found out from the manual, i can turn on the low pass filter on the non fader preout but not on the front and rear preouts. the front and rear preouts only can turn on the high pass filter.

Is it because u need to add another 2 channel amp to drive ur rear speakers?

currently, I think ur config is 4 channel amp only?
2 ch used to drive the front and back and the other 2 to drive the woofer.

best is use 4 ch to drive comp and 2 ch to drive woofer.

some of us dont like rear speakers, kacau the front stage
