i have this function at my monoblock amp ... have a switch showing 0 degree and 180degree... tried playing aorund with it... not much difference was noticed.......

some electronic crossover also got this function for the hi-pass.. what does that mean? the sound turn 180degree to another direction? erm.... :hmmmm:

just switching the polarity of the speaker, like changing around the +ve and -ve on the terminal.

for sub, sometimes in phase u get focussed and solid bass, but sound comes from the back, if u put out of phase (180 deg.) u can get wider bass and sound coming from middle, sometimes front, but the bass not so focus. so depends la...

for speakers, some ppl try to play with phase to get better center image, wider stage and more natural sound. just have to play around and see if improve or not.

Sounds are sine wave if seen from an osciloscope. So, a 0 degree or in phase is the correct sine wave. A 180 degree rotation means that if you compare the 2 sine wave, one is up (0degree) while the other is down (180 degree). Go goole for sine waves or look at bcae1.com.
