~ my iswara ~ ^^

I drove my ride for 4 years. My dad bought it nearly 11 years.

So far thats the best iswara i've driven.

But i haven't unleash those new generation of iswara's power yet. I'll try to pursuade my fren to mod their iswara. ha ha ha

normally, we turn the key to 'on' position, then turn some more to 'start' position to start the engine then release. that's normal way.

but now, we want to have engine start button similar to many high-end cars. haha... like the S2000, etc.

so, what we are trying to do is, just having the key turn to 'on' position, then press the 'engine start button' to start the engine, then release the button.

Cool way of starting engine. haha...

wow Skywalker, thanks for the info sharing on ur ignition DIY switch, man. i have been curious of which wire to solder for sometimes. now i really have a clear picture of how to DIY it. thanks man.

however, one question: how do u remove the wire-bunch from the key-kneck? where are the screws?
thanks thanks... but some advice me to use relay.... i dont know how thw wiring should be if use relay... haha...

there is only 1 screw at the bottom under the wires.... unscrew it and pull the white cylinder cube out... but u have to bend down and lie on the floor to see where is it la.... i often see accessory car workshop mech lie on the floor to fix wires under the dashboard....

in short, jz for fun... hahaha....
in fact, more work for u... instead of turning ur key to the max to start the engine, turn till "ON" and then press the red button....

ic....how long u need to press that button then ? we normal start also need to hold a while wor...hmm...just wonder

not so serious la... jz some uncomfortable feeling only.... if alwiz click on the switch when engine is running, starter will "kong" early lo....

Mine iswara have problem. Usually car have sterring lock after we turn off the engine and turn the sterring to right side. After lock, it abit hard to put in the key. But my car recently, very hard to put in the key even i didn't lock the sterring.

hmm.... not sure what happened ler... mayb something got loose inside??... or mayb ur steering lock problem....

no idea....

hmm....no need steering lock then...use those additional steering lock. if ignition hard to insert key, better bring to mechanic check.

I not using the steering lock also it happen like this... First, i thought got my key was bend, but then i use my another key also the same.

hey skywalker...do u have any problem with the start button? something like sometimes press can start and sometimes press but just heard click click sound but cannot start/crank engine. i think i'm having that problem. so, have to go turn the key to start engine.

any knowledge sharing?

yah.... i do experience it sometimes.... jz click click sound... not sure yet why is this la... but after awhile, i can use the button and start engine again....
u also experience this??... why ar??...

mayb later i gonna add relay to the starter button la... i got the wiring diagram adi...

yeah...i am having that problem...today i just re-wired it with another type of wire...was using multi-core wire. now using single core (thick). still the same things.

i suspect either the switch or the wire is not passing enough current to the starter. so starter getting not enough current to drive it. i'm using exectly the same type of switch that u are using. The electronics shop told me that this switch can be used for 12V supply.

is ur wire from the switch meant for current as high as 10Amp? i'm suspecting that the wire i'm using is not for such high current. the wire can act as resistor which limits enough current to the starter. erm...this hypothesis is right if the two terminals that we are tapping wires to the switch is having current of 10Amp or more passing through them when circuit is closed. If so, then wires which is built for high current (>10Amp) should allow the start button function well without problem.

waa..... vr complicated explaination.... so conclusion, u mean the wire couldnt carry enough current to jump start the car??... possible.... i'm currently using multicore (thin) wire.... i dont think its enough... coz i'm using the same wire for my foglights and they get heated up vr easily.....

so, conclusion, go and get bigger wire....

well, either the switch or wire lo...will change to thicker wire first...then if still the same, will find bigger switch...if still cannot, then add relay...if all cannot, remove...:baring_teeth:

latest DIY update: cheap skate engine start button...

first, go electronics shop buy a nice suitable switch.... mine cost 3bucks...

after that, solder 2 wire to the switch like this....
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h73/kahchai/DIY%20engine%20start%20button/DSC06816.jpg

after that, remove the panel that covers the key ignition...
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h73/kahchai/DIY%20engine%20start%20button/DSC06817.jpg

check and see which wire to tap..... (vr hard angle, need to lie down on the floor)
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h73/kahchai/DIY%20engine%20start%20button/DSC06819.jpg

lucky i saw a screw in between the wires.... unscrew it and take the whole thing out.... now easy to see lo...

after u know which wire to tap, solder the wire from ur switch to the key ignition...
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h73/kahchai/DIY%20engine%20start%20button/DSC06820.jpg

another shot...
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h73/kahchai/DIY%20engine%20start%20button/DSC06821.jpg

another one... hehe...

DONE~!!!!

I guess all iswara will have the same white cylinder thing, because my iswara sedan also having the same one. and of course u can follow the wiring that is shown in the picture posted by skywalker to build ur own engine start button. nevertheless, u can still start ur engine the original way using key. either way la.

We DIY it here. but if u dono how to DIY, i guess your mechanic (wire man) will be able to help u.

cheers...
