Infiniti is now slowly climbing up the ladder in putting its name as one of the major luxury brands in the market, and they had done a great job so far with their lineup of luxury cars and SUVs like the G37 and the FX. In an attempt to follow the current trend of producing some tree-hugging cars, they had also came up with a sporty-looking Infiniti EMERG-E concept car, which has an impressive lineup of numbers in its spec sheet; 402 horsepower from two electric motors, a 0-100 in only four seconds and could reach a speed of 209km/h in 30 seconds.

It is also good looking as well. And with those formula already in the bag, Infiniti was more than ready to put the EMERG-E for its first public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. That was, until the horror strikes in. Just a few paces into the route of the famous hill climb run, instead of sprinting through the course, the EMERG-E seemed to slow down and came to a halt at the side of the road, dead. While it is yet to be certain whether it has either ran out of juice of facing any mechanical problems, it is still in a concept stage which problems or glitches are just a part of it. And for that, the EMERG-E still managed to finish the course; on a flatbed of course.

Anyways, if some of you are wondering that the body silhouette looks a bit similar to a Lotus Evora, it is not a surprise as the development of the EMERG-E is related to the Lotus Evora 414E hybrid concept. The EMERG-E could run on its lithium-ion batteries for 48 kilometers, before the petrol engine kicks in and adds another 434 kilometers into the driving range.
