Very soon, the Infiniti G37(probably) will give the current luxury executives available in Malaysia, namely Lexus, BMW, Mercedes a good run for their money. The imported Infiniti luxury brand models will start penetrating the Malaysian market by [strike]September[/strike] 4th quarter this year and should compete fairly well locally, after all, Infiniti has been the fasted-growing brand in the US last year while expanding rapidly worldwide. Recent inception includes Jakarta, Mexico, Australia and Singapore.

If you haven't already know of the Infiniti brand, think Lexus and Toyota. The Infiniti range will largely be based on premium Nissans but thoroughly and luxuriously remodeled inside and out.

The Infiniti range will be made available through the Infiniti Centre operated by Inspired Motor Sdn. Bhd., a joint venture between Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) and Auto Dunia which will be strategically located in Kuala Lumpur.

Specifics has yet to be annouced, but the Infiniti models will comprise of sport crossovers, sports coupes and performance sedans. It's not hard to guess, but the Infiniti G37 should prove to be their best selling product locally.

Dato' Dr Ang Bon Beng, Executive Director of Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd said "The impending arrival of Infiniti in Malaysia comes at a time when the luxury automotive market in Malaysia is experiencing tremendous growth. Last year, the segment grew by 40%. Suffice to say, we are thrilled to be in the position to offer luxury car buyers in Malaysia a distinctive brand that epitomizes luxury performance."

"As part of our worldwide expansion, we are very excited to launch Infiniti in Malaysia and welcome newly established joint venture Inspired Motor Sdn Bhd to our luxury brand," said Toru Saito, Infinti's Corporate Vice President. "Within the year, the promise of luxury vehicles with a unique combination of inspired performance, attentive hospitality and unparalleled quality will become a reality for Malaysian customers, who we know are receptive to exclusive brands."

as for GTR35 through ETCM, we don't have facts to share, though they had plans to do so some time ago but would require them to upgrade their current service centre and technicians to accommodate the more advanced GTR. not to mention having to compete with the grey imports.
