Help !!! Need Transformation

I got this old junk n I donno what to do with it. :Not_Impressed:

Model : Corona
Year : 1982
CC : 1.8

I just use this car as a spare car if my other car sent for service or breaks down. Im thinking of upgrading the engine and refurbish the interior.What type of engine should I upgrade ? ... turbo ... supercharger or just NA ? Im not gonna use the car for drag but at least must be practical for daily drive and a little bit of power n not petrol thirsty.... my Perdana TT is already killing me.

Any advice ?

since you say its a "spare car", how much are you willing to spend on it first?

3tgte ==> 1.8liter, ~160hp, ~21kg-m torque, boost at about 7psi, twincam, but only 2 valve per cylinder (8 valve total).

Well I think 6K should be the max. Many says I should transplant a Nissan RS20 or RB20.

I'm not going to upgrade anything means the car will run on stock engine without any heavy modifications.

My concern is the engine and the availability of spare parts and easy maintenance. I dont want a powerful engine but yet with tons of problem.

Netmatrix... why you want the engine ??? ... the engine is sucks !!! ... hard to start in the morning... no power at all... like a bull cart. If I decide to upgrade... you can have it for free....:_:

Your engine should be a 3T engine rite? Is it manual? If it is manual then i want it!!!! Reserve for me!!! It is hard to get it started in the mornings, because the engine needs an overhaul. Also the ignition needs to be in tip top condition. :mouth_closed:

Anyway if you wanna perk up the car, RB20 might be too big for your engine bay. An SR20, CA18 should be a better bet. But if you could get a 3T-GTE, the more better. But parts for 2T/ 3T is also hard to come by. And if you find it, its cost quite some money. 4AGE is another good buy. But the halfcuts cost much nowdays. And its only 1.6cc. Meaning you downgrade. If you could get a very cheap 3SGE from Altezza (if la!) then its more better to do this. Got power, fuel efficiency, blah blah. But cheap ones are automatics. Manual ones cost a bomb! Tiptronics.... no need to say la. hahaha.:_:

Anyway for RM6000, i think your are running quite lean on budget. Every transplant no matter how cheap the halfcut, suggest you ready at least 10K. I think your Perdana TT 6A12? should price about there when you did transplant also right?:confused_smile:
