Get a 2nd hand car that is rare & unique..

satisfaction beyond words..

for me, new car & 2nd hand car will cost the same within a few years..

new car = high price + less maintenance..

2nd hand car = low price + high maintenance..

so, just decide on what will make u happier..

from my opinion...
keep & restore yr current car 1st.......get some performance parts rims etc....then once u settle down (married) then only plan to get a bigger car or a MPV.....at least u could keep aside some $$$ for the future.....

i use to be in the same boat, since my ride no longer under financing...
can even get Polo TSI, but I value my money and love my current ride...

normal new car in 60-70K range, for me didn't have a good suspension as most of them use 'torsion beam' setup
at the rear which meant for comfort...
i like corners btw...

so for me it's cheaper to re-built my engine, since it's consuming oil...
it's a final street stage... definitely can outtake many new cars...:itsme:

so i suggest you rebuilt your car also...

wat car u currently using now?

if you plan to get a neo cps, i would rather mod the satria. mivec is the way to go, and can mod from A-Z and fully custumize the car the way you want it rather than getting the CPS.

when you say get a "new" ride...you mean BRAND NEW car...or change to a new car which can be 2nd hand ?

if brand NEW CAR..i will prefer mod the satria.

if new 2nd hand car also can...ill go for Civic EK 2 door with B18c inside.
or get a Evo III or IV
or Cefiro A31

hehehe

New car - be just like everyone else drive a fairly stock standard car..

Mod current car - don't really think its worth the hassle and money as you'll need to make it a 4G92 DOHC or a Mivec to make it worthwhile.. still need to do extensive work to beef up the tired chassis. this really need time and patience, you would need to find workshops that are good at what they do... and it won't come cheap if you want good work. even then I don't think its a good base to work with.. if it was a Satria GTi then yes..but the chassis still can't compare to the...

Get a second hand car? - Satria Neo is a good choice.. 1.6L CPS ones.. stock form its quite formidable already.

Thats my opinion.. If you are driving a Satria GTi then don't bother getting a new car, if its a Satria 1.3, get a Satria Neo CPS since the Satria GTi is a generation behind plus its pretty old already -- tired chassis, why change from an old car (Satria 1.3) to a faster old car (Satria GTi) when you can get a faster new car (Satria CPS).

Satria GTi vs Satria CPS..
1. power.. GTi wins
2. light weight.. GTi wins
3. HOT POTATO (stolen).. GTi wins
4. chassis status.. maybe CPS wins..newer car & more rigid..
5. improved handling.. CPS - according to DJAN*

if you read here, Djan compares the GTi and CPS R3 and he says the CPS R3 is better.

The only difference I can tell from Proton's literature is that the CPS R3 has lowered springs and the normal CPS doesn't. The rest of the performance improvements are here. So in other words, get the Satria Neo CPS, change spring and your handling is better than Satria GTi already.

Of course, you still lose to the GTi in terms of power.. but this joker proves that handling+skill > power.

ya , cps is quite good . but cps has stopped from producing . which means no more brand new cps in the market . a 2nd hand cps cost around 40-50 . i would rather get a 2nd hand vios/city/jazz . at least it's made in JAPAN .
saw many car brochures in my hse , all was taken by my mum . she's planning to get a new car . mayb will take over her current honda city and restore back my satria .
any place recommend to get a 4g92 MIVEC engine ? just incase if really will keep my current ride .
And what's the different if i only transplant my engine to a 4g92 or take a whole h/c body ?

Satria Neo CPS H-Line is still available for purchase brand new car from Proton Edar. In Japan they want the Proton Satria Neo for racing man, not the Vios/City/Jazz. The handling of the Satria Neo is technically superior to Vios/City/Jazz. So, I don't know what is your priority.

if you take halfcut body you get the brakes, the full wiring, the drive shafts, the suspension, the brake servo, the aircon, the dashboard..the everything..its like converting the front of your car to whatever Mitsubishi half cut you buy.

advantage take full halfcut u get the engine+complete wiring and ecu harness+all working parts in the engine bay,the subframe, the crossmember, the lower arm and anti-rollbar kit,the front suspension kit,brakes,knuckle,dashboard,a/c system, meter panel and complete dashboard wiring and if u were lucky get the mivec bodykit also (which are costs triple from the stock satria bodypart price)....

if only transplant the engine only got the engine itself and ecu to make it working...but u didn't get those "befier" parts...
