Engine Conversion

hi everyone

I would like to know what are the steps i require to go through for an engine conversion (from halfcut shopping until the car is legal on the road) without the usage of runner. planning to upgrade my 1.6 carbie BG to B8 NA since the current 1.6 is high on mileage and starts to deterioriate.
