I remove the original intake, fit it with a 3" pipe and duct it all the way to the front fog lamp. I avoid 90 degrees bend and use may of 60 degrees to improve air flow. Fitted with an Amsoil open pod. Then insulate the pipe with ceramic fiber blanket.

The end result of all these is that my FC has improved. Previously, I will get ~8L/100KM. After around 2 weeks of run, I can know get 7.3KM/L. I also get better low RPM power as well. It idea is to suck air from outside engine bay and long pipe always help to improve low RPM power. Having 3" helps for high RPM as well. Overall its a cheap mod and better than those expensive Air RAM stuff.

I have something similar but my pipe is staineless steel. Custom made. My FC on highway is 5.5/100km on highway. Maybe because I removed my cat con also.

You're is singapore right? So i assume you still have your cat con ? New car? Your 7L/100km is on highway or city driving?

My 7L is mix of highway and city. But around 70% city and 30% highway.

Now with 90% city and heavy footed driving. I still managed 8.1L. Not bad considering previously I will get almost 9L. So thats a pretty good improvement.

The low end torque now also allows me to engage 5th gear at 40KM/H on a slight uphill road. Previously, there will be lots of vibration. Now its much smoother.

put intake pipe on fog lamp, u not worried what happen if got flood or heavy rain?
