Blow Off Issue

Dear All,

my case, after install a blowoff on standard piping, when each time i shift gear as normal press full clutch pedal to changing gear.The problem is the rpm drop to zero until engine shut down unless i release the clutch pedal faster b4 it drop to zero.

as experince from fren mayb the blow off not suitable so i change it from Srad R2D2 to Blitz SS.

The problem still occur, how to solve it?

guess u have to tighten the b.o.v so dat it won't open too easily causing too much air vented out and ur engine will stall..

After markets BOV purges the air out (vent to atmosphere), and EVOs being mass air-flow sensor, calculates the air after the filter. The problem now is that you have released all these air but your ECU had already assigned X-values of petrol to be injected.

At a slow drive, your engine floods and eventually dies off.

it's a common issue for evo with aftermarket BOV. so many ways to resolve your problem...from my experience la...
1. Install back your original BOV...(but no obvious BOV sound...but I like it hehehe)
2. or Change to Blow-In type of BOV...recirculate the air...
3. or Get electronic support i.e HKS EIDS...(still using ur Blitz)
4. or Get aftermarket sub-ecu/ecu to overcome this issue...if u like ur current BOV...

the problem comes when fitting a bov wit a fueling system dat uses MAF, mod ur bov to recirculate the bov exiting air. dat shud solve it, any problem u can pm me or call at 0163571811

it happened to my fren before, he was using ssqv2, the same problem with u...
after that he changed to ssqv 1st version, everyting ok after that....

maybe u should try other BOV 1st.

when I 1st time install the blitz blowoff with a soft tighten is it ok but the sound not too nice so i tighten it more hard then occur a engine shut down.
So i soften it back but still same engine shutdown.

Im running an old skool HKS blow off on my Toyota 1G-GTE (using MAF) as well. no problems at all. You might want try this BOV instead. ECU is for Auto, but now Ive converted it to manual. Dono if this helps, but you can try. Cheers

It's a very common problem. Like all others say, the air should go back into the intake pipe after the MAF sensor but since it's going into the atmosphere, the fuel + air ratio mixture is inaccurate causing your engine to stall.

As others advised, install back the original BOV or get an aftermarket BOV that recirculates back the air into the intake pipe. But it defeats the whole point of getting an aftermarket BOV. The idea of installing a BOV is to get the 'percissssss' sound during lift off.

I am using HKS SQV, so far so good. :)

If you re-circulate the BOV back, the sound will be dampened, in which you may as well kept back your original BOV unless it was faulty and need replacement. I heard that there is a HKS product that helps with such stalling, try it out and see if it prevents the stalling issue.

BOV got no sound...im using 1st version ssqv...
could it be the actuator? im boosting at 0.8 bar max...

v6 twin turbo engine...any suggestions?

i got the same problem before.. but it did not happen if i drove it smoothly, i still used the bov for a few months. then i changed the bov back to the ori one... not more problem.

anyway, i got bored with the irritating psst psst sound.... but this is a very personal thing... hehe...

After replaced intercooler piping, then having same issue too.

i think he facing a issues same like me, when press full clutch the engine will shut down!!!
