i've a big problem here...i'm using MIVEC RS engine...before dis i'm using standard exhaust (v6 exhaust) so i did't recognized wether the MIVEC is ON or NOT...before dat i'm using straight pipe till end..on dat time da MIVEC still can ON when reach 4800 or 5200..(i don't remember)..but now, after bout 6 month i'm using dat standard (V6 Exhaust),i change it to straight 2.2" pipe wif HKS muffler, i recogized dat MIVEC didn't ON anymore even da RPM reach to 8500-9500....i've try to detected da prob....i already change da distributor into 4g93..install new grounding cable..check ECU....check MIVEC head..check MIVEC solenoid n try it bypass...change to new engine oil..check timing wif timing light..but it only ON at 5500 to 5800 but not much power...da sound is like only valve for exhaust are open but not at intake valve...so it feel nothing if MIVEC ON..n i don't know wether it open or not when i test it on da road..so for da conlusion da MIVEC is still not ON much like before..so, if anyone have da same problem as me or ever face dis problem...plz help me n give me some suggestion to me to slove dis damn problem...it feel useless if i'm using dis engine w/out MIVEC...plzz help me guys..

what do u mean by exhaust setup...i don't think so it happened because of dat..da MIVEC will open in whatever exhaust condition..now i'm using straight flow pipe...which suitable wif MIVEC engine..but it's still cannot open..help me plzz wif another suggestion..anyway thanx bro for viewing n ur reply..really appreciate dat..:_:

what kind of engine oil are you using? MIVECS are very sensitive to oil with thin viscosity.

i think ur mivec solenoid jammed is it???try using the VAFC...to check if the mivec got run or not...

bro..before dis i'm using vtec engine oil...but now i'm using regular engine oil...VISCO 2000..just change it..tq for ur reply

i already bypass da mivec solenoid when rpm reach 5500 to try wether da MIVEC solenoid is still ok..da solenoid is ok..i also tap a bulb into mivec solenoid..da bulb is ON when rpm reach 5500 to 5800...but da sound is kejap ade kejap xde...feel not worth it if i need to buy VAFC wif cost bout RM700 to check it..thanx for ur advice....

Car needs engine management. You might be running too lean or rich...after installing Emanage or vafc,it will solve your problem.

I have tried to set my VAFC myself

this problem will happen when the fuel too much or too less
After tuned with the on wheel ait-fuel ratio to set my vafc, then is ok...

Mivec sensor could be one of it...

BTW, is ur engine still roar in 800RPM?
see no sound changed doest mean MIVEC didn't turn on...
While u can also hear similar MIVEC engine roar from Satria R3 after stage to (hi cam) tuning...

hi rev of mivec sound are diff with std 4G93 sound...
My ride canT feel sound change AT 1ST GEAR!!!::bawling:

Anyway, as a n/a car's owner...,
u should know, air-fuel ratio is the most important modification step...
No harm if u put e-manage, after all u still can improve th HP...instead of turbo boost up!!!

all the best...fre:proud:nz!!!

Last time my mivec cant engage due to fuel too lean (just put 1.8 block but no tuning at all:proud:)... its actually engaged just that i can't feel the difference. But bro, you actually said that your mivec opened at 5500rpm just that you felt underpowered right?? 5500rpm is standard engage rpm so it's common... I am having same opinion with Bro Hanjackal as my car back to normal after proper tuning using emanage and larger injector...

And you said you can feel the open/closure of intake and exhaust valve? how do you differentiate it??

bro ,
after u change the exzos piping do u check your exzos sensor after the header . maybe that is your cause . cuz the problem heppen after u change ur exzos setup . mine before the wire tercabut the engine not engage mivec . other than that u need to troubleshooting with gud mech .

Did u have that problem b4? Or u fix it b4?

Is that mean whenever if v just simply unplug the exhaust sensor also will cause this knid of problem???

bro ,
last time my friend forgot to put exzos sensor after install my mivec head . idle vary bad , engine sangut2 and mivec not engage . but how to check the sensor in working condition or not need to did by mech . quite susah to check .

bro ,
i know what u feel when mivec cannot open . no mivec kicking bored driving . heheh . hope u can find ur problem

sorry bro...not mean to abuse u....

I juts guess...the exhaust sensor is to detect the fuel of the burn in engine...
if forgot to put mean sensor no exhaust air detected...
ECU map will keep on providing fuel...
The fuel consumption will becomes too much so causing the engine rev not smooth!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong!!!

yup i think u are right . glad can share idea with u:smokin:

TS, as long as you can rev to 8k then your engine is working fine.
Doesn't mean when you don't feel the kick, your mivec isn't engaging.
Cam transition in mivec is way subtler than vtec or vvtl.

p/s : if your mivec isn't working (hi-cam never engage), the max you could rev is ard 6.5k

Also known as o2 sensor, it measures the proportion of oxygen (O2) in exhaust gases, sent to the ECU (more o2=lean, less or no o2=rich)

It helps your FC only in closed-loop mode (cruising, constant engine load):smokin:

Yes,
Mivec hi cam engage very very less chance to be jammed...
Since it lock by oil pressure...
unless the detector gone
