what to mod on RX8

I had make up my mind and gonna buy a RX8 (M) on before April. Will spare RM20k for mod. Besides Koyo radiator (rm2.2k), what can I mod with RM16.8k (only engine).
 
Additional oil cooler, exhaust manifold, midpipe and muffler, HKS or Revi intake box, light weight pulley.......
 
Try to find a Suitable turbocharger to boost the power up...haha..:regular_smile:
 
Save all that up for an extensive rebuilt and then get some street porting done.

Heard a few Renesis engines are already beginning to blow.

Renesis intake port is a lot bigger than RX7 even with porting..... only exhaust port has slight disadvantage, porting wasn't an option becos mazda has maximised it, plus the side seal doesn't allow it to go any further, if not the seal has potential of fallin off....... Still waiting for template from reputable rotary specialist.....

The carbon built up and faulty ignition are main causes for blown engine......

Don't forget brakes upgrades to go with your power add ons!

Since u have that kind of cash$$ available.....get an FD in shit condition (cheaper price-mah), take the old mill out and replace it with a 20B. Hook up an engine management system like Microtech or something like that, put on a killer bodykit, rims and forgot to mention....rebuild the 20B....port it.....bigger turbo....new seals...v-mount rad/intercooler, interior mods and walla!!!! You'll have a serious piece of kit there bro.
 
Dude,why not you get a bolt-on Turbocharger or Supercharger kit.

Of all the mods that need to be done.Please dont forget to get a SLD or something equalvalient to remove the speed cut :_:
 
CSL......if you're still getting the RX8, please be careful with your spending as there are a lot of so called rotary specialist shops who rip you off by changing your parts with crap items. Look around, ask around and you can actually get stuff pretty reasonably priced. For RM16k plus.....dude you can get your car going pretty good. Bolt on parts make the job a lot easier.....but the price for me I think is pretty steep comparing to the gains in HP that you get. First thing is to get yourself a good mechanic. Good luck.

my bro 1 just blown last july.. end up seling it..
its really no good on reliability.. maybe its only his.. no offence to mazda member..
but some tuner said to him , problem cause from his E-mannage.. not sure how true is that, didnt ask much .
 
Where did your bro install the turbo kit?? E Manage is pretty much useless on RX8 ecu.... There's a yellow RX8 Auto turbo still running strong after a year...... He send his ecu to Mines for turbo remapping...... He oftenly drive it up to Genting for conference.....

cars like RX8.... need real specialist.... sending ECU to mines to remap is the best choice... or get someone really expert like ama-san or auto select to tune it.

no turbo yet my friend.. he blown the engine not turbo.. not sure whats the real problem.. tunner said in chinese terms word, rotary "bocor angin" really dont know what that mean,i just didnt ask much . but in note, that car was really droven in hardcore 24-7 penang, johor in top speed all the time. i did drove it before selling" already in problem" .. this is how it is=
power is not delivering anymore.. eachtime u turn off traction control and make wheel spin, the power will die off... when u try to drift , power and torque will suddenly cut off and kill it, .. hardly reach redline rpm..
 
Sounds like dead ignition coil to me.... If rotary really bocor angin, no way it won't blown.....

Is it possible to get Ama-san to come down here to tune a car if it's a big project?like an engine rebuild,ECU tuning,and all the others....like a big project by souping the whole car up...the looks,the power,the handling and everything...
 
I thought of the Greddy bolt-on turbo kit. But afraid the temperature will become too high. Anyone can confirm there will not be a problem ar?
